If I'm reading the census data right, much the same holds true throughout New Hampshire.

YixilTesiphon

I have no idea why that would be the case, but I'm all for it. Hopefully it'll still be that way by 2010 when I can move.

Now all I have to do is manage to get out of the house and meet them while they're awake!

Maybe you should check out the vamp/goth scene.  ;)

Shh!  Let them figure that out on their own!  I'm trying to promote Keene here!

Doh, I feel like an idiot: I didn't realize there were more posts after the watch discussion until I went back to the thread and started reading it again *siigh*

Nah, he wanted it :) I'm so lame at picking out presents: he shows me what he wants, and I buy it ;)
He did get a platinum ring a few months later though....

I think a singles night would be a good idea, only I think most single porcs in NH know or are at least marginally aware of each other already. Combine that with the fact there are so many more males than females and I see a lot of guys standing around talking about their gun collections...

I'm going to recommend going for those not in the FSP, but who see the light :)

"Those who see the light"!?!
From where I'm at(anarchist)...they all seem to be in the dark...
(maybe they all just decided to switch the lights off and pretend the dimness is the light)

The system has bought and paid for a large portion of women in this country through theft and wealth redistribution...

Theft through using "property taxes" to pay for public indoctrination centers "for the children"...
and...
Wealth redistribution through state operated welfare schemes and also federally through the "Earned Income Credit"...

Not to mention "courts" and "judges" that are totally out of control and criminal to say the least...just look at what's going on in Keene right now with Brian Severance!  Every person in Keene, the state, the country, the whole world could be incarcerated indefinitely based on the "judge's" reasoning in this case!

The "judge's" only reason for incarcerating Brian is to "make him tell the court where another person is"...
Does it really not occur to this "judge" that Brian may not know where this other person is?
And if(as it should) this DOES occur to the "judge" then we should all fear this "judge" who could have any and all of us locked up til we tell him where David is...David is one of Brian's children and the court wants to do the "child snatch" on David...

The more I think about it...the angrier I get at the myth and fraud of "government" and "justice"...
All I see everywhere is aggression to keep the prisoners cowered in the corners and the slaves working...

Anyone know some single women who aren't "on the take" and haven't "bought into the fraud and aggression"?

Russell Kanning

If I meet any single women in Keene that are worked up about Brian Severance, I will send them your way Rob. :)

Actually I have met a couple of them in town ... but they might not be anarchists ....... yet. 8)

Thanks Russell!  You know they are one in a million(but we're working on that...lol)

FYI - I was in Concord the other day for work and was surprised at the number of females I saw and a few even started talking to me.  Usually I have to chase the ladies and mumble some lame pickup line...

Part of the problem is that it, at least in my experience, takes time and patience to show someone that much of what they hold to be true is only one perspective on a huge, wide, complex monster which is Reality. It takes that time and effort to build the trust needed for your "radical new information" to equate in 'truthiness' to what they've been taught and trained in/for for many years.

For example, some people hold the whole law enforcement and criminal court system in high regard because, in their mind, that establishment exists to protect them from the undeniably real criminal element that exists in our society. What they may not have bothered to think about is how ineffective such an establishment is at actually preventing anything, especially when compared to an individual taking responsibility for his/her own well-being and using whatever knowledge, skills, and tools are best and/or available to bear that responsibility.

The same goes for the gov't school systems. Most people I've met don't think of them as a social engineering experiment - they're simply places where kids go to learn readin', ritin', and 'rithmetic. Instead, while I have yet to sit in on and/or research a particular gov't curriculum directly, what I gather from talking to friends' children who are in school is that even some of the most innocent-sounding class activities are deeply steeped in promoting communistic/socialistic ideas. One case in point: a class was asked to hold a debate over who should be entitled to free (gov't provided) housing. ... The question was not "should the gov't be providing people free housing" - the presumption was already made! It somewhat unsettled the parent when I timidly pointed out that little fact, too.

Then there's things which seem to be beyond all control and are in a horrible mess of a state, such as health care costs and insurance for the same. What many people fail to realize is that the health care industry is in such a horrible mess directly because of gov't involvement... and even some of the ones that do see no way of ever getting the situation resolved, but since this sort of thing more or less directly translates into people *dying*, etc., feel that the only way to start getting the system fixed now is with even more gov't involvement! In the short term, they may even be right, in that some of the people in deperate need of health care can get that care, but at what cost to us as a whole?

Being short with people is no way to change minds, something I've been learning quite a bit about as of late. If someone shares a statist or otherwise "wrong" point of view with you regarding some matter, why not turn it into a bit of friendly discussion at the earliest opportunity and see if the person just 'hasn't thought about it that way before'?

One year I was really inventive though and he got all kinds of really good stuff but I bought him a guitar pick and had I love you Rick engraved in it, (costs about $9 altogether), and that meant more to him than even his Fender 12 string guitar! :D

:)

The thing about thoughtful gifts is true for most people, men as well as women. Of all the gifts I've received throughout the years, my favorite is when a girl I had a crush on at the time baked me a batch of cookies. I didn't even like the cookies, she'd done a good job I just don't like the kind she made, but I ate all of them because she was the one who made them.

Both times I was in NH, I noticed that there was a severe lack of people under ~21, both male and female. The first time I visited NH, it was during the summer holidays. I was there for 2 weeks, I walked around town every single day, visited towns all over the state, and I honestly cannot remember seeing more than like 4 teenagers the entire time! Where do teenagers in NH hide?

Vote Tyler Stearns

You didn't see any teenagers because the majority are doing this...sitting in front of their computers and IMing or playing video games or watching TV.  The minority that are "active" are being shuttled all over the place by their parents or themselves so they can participate in sports and other activities.  Gone are the days when kids hung out oudoors or walked anywhere.

Try Hampton Beach and the Lake district.

And the parents are happy to keep their kids inside and within sight, too, what with all the eeeevil child molesters running around -- or worse, the neighbors' teenage boys!

I see them everywhere here in Keene.
