There is no law in NH prohibiting passing a state police car or passing on the right on a multilane highway.  It is, however, illegal to sit in the left lane and force other drivers to pass you on the right.  The trooper was the one breaking the law that day.  I have, on more than one occasion, been pulled over, ticketed, and even arrested for violating imaginary statutes that police officers either made up or assumed existed.  Fortunately I knew better and visited the prosecutor on the next business day and got the fake charges dropped.  If a patrol car is traveling below the speed limit on the highway, I will pass it.

Attorney Penny Dean had another similar encounter with a self-important Statie while she was out for a late-night walk in Concord, and saw to it that he was taken out behind the woodshed for his trouble.  His son turned up at an event at UNH-Durham where Penny was speaking and tried to berate her for it, slinging misogynistic epithets at his classmates as they tried to get him to sit down and shut up.  Like father, like son?
Here's the video of the cop's idiot son making a fool of himself.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bykwrOmBM9Q  I don't know why I waited until now to upload it.

Yes I commented... I had similar troubles on a few occasions which has been due to a sudden loss of connection resulting in the video stop downloading and only showing what has been downloaded as the full video lenght. Solved by updateing the page or if you want to be drastic clean the cashe.

YouTube does that to me all the time.

And just think, these are the kind of people who will be enforcing a primary seatbelt law if HB802 passes.

"It's not illegal to walk on the street at 11 o'clock at night in the rain?"

Wow.  That kid is obviously a toolshed...

A cowboy in Texas got pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding.

The trooper started to lecture the cowboy about his speeding, and in general began to throw his weight around to try to make the cowboy feel uncomfortable. Finally, the trooper got around to writing out the ticket.

As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head. The cowboy said, "Having some problem with Circle Flies there, are ya?" The trooper stopped writing the ticket and said, "Well yeah, if that's what they are. I never heard of Circle flies." So the cowboy says, "Well, circle flies are common on ranches. See, they're called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse."

The trooper says, "Oh," and goes back to writing the ticket. Then after a minute, he stops and says, "Are you trying to call me a horse's ass?"

The cowboy says, "No, Sir. I have too much respect for law enforcement and police officers to even think about calling you a horse's ass."

The trooper says, "Well that's a good thing," and goes back to writing the ticket.

After a long pause, the cowboy says, "Hard to fool them flies, though."

Must say, I like my Tennessee Cops so much better. New Hampshire maybe the 'Free State', but your guys are Nazi's.

Got pulled over late last night on the Interstate (74 in a 55[omgwth?!?] zone). Black guy, very respectful. Wrote it for 70 and told me that he would be in court and would suggest probation so that it will be taken off my record.

Why can't all cops be like that?

Oh Gawd, where to start?

First, I'm glad you got out of that encounter alive. Many people who get stopped by the Tennessee Highway Patrol get their pets killed.

Second, if the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and especially that incident, is the model to emulate, then I don't want any cops at all.

After all, he could have just asked you to slow it down and skipped the whole ticket writing crap. Or he could have just ignored you entirely.

Checking the citation, it wasn't THP, it was the Knox County Sheriffs' Department.

Way I think of it, he could have arrested me for reckless endangerment. I'm only a bit annoyed because like fifty seconds before I saw him, a Bentley Azure (and I was drooling, of course. That's my dream car) passed me doing well over a hundred. I guess he figured the Crown Vic' was better at chasing a Buick Sedan at eighty, rather than a Bentley Coup at over a hundred.
