I've only skimmed through this, so I can't say whether it has an overabundance of misguided left-wing politics. But it seems the vast majority of it is technical and security advice, which I haven't reviewed at all, so it should be fairly apolitical and hopefully at a level where it's useful to people whose computers laugh at them. :) The book itself says:
