Anyone know where I can buy one of these simple wooden presses for squeezing a 4" X 3 & 1/2" block of tofu?

Kat Kanning

No it doesn't.  That looks like a kit for pressing it when you make it.  I'm just squeezing water out of store bought

money dollars

I usually slice it thin and then lay it between clean lint-free flour sack type kitchen towels. Then something heavy like a skillet on top for an hour or so. Then toss the kitchen towels in the laundry. If you don't mind using up a whole roll of paper towels, that works too.

I squeezed the pound I just bought in disposable plastic container I have been reusing, that I poked some hole in the bottom of, a small plate and two quarts of water for weight.  I dug out the snowdrift blocking one of my table saws and sawed the pieces to make a press.  Just have to find my small brass wood screws.

Step 1=open window
Step2=throw tofu out window
Step3=get real food.

That's littering. Somebody has to clean that up. Is tofu recyclable?

If I was a wild critter, I sure wouldn't eat that crap!

You would be hard pressed to have avoided eating a soy product, although not in the form of tofu. I slice it, season it, fry it, throw it in a bowl, cut it up, some and stir a little salsa into it.  It  is a source of protein and saves me from eating an extra egg. I stirfry some veggies, scramble some eggs, mix it all together and eat it with my 5 grams of carb toast.

I can at least avoid soy protein, even if oil and lecethin are in everything.

If I want to add protein, hemp seeds are healthier (plenty of EFA's).

Yeah, I always chew them instead of throwing them in the ashtray

Kat Kanning

You can buy hemp seed at the grocery store.

Hey are you carb-restricting?!  I didn't know.  (I lost a C note of weight on Atkins)

Yeah....lost half a chin
