Your best bet is not to communicate with them. You have no obligation. If they want to dig, make them do the work. Don't do the digging for them.
That's sage advice and anyone would be wise to heed it when dealing with any adversarial "authority".
If they insist that you need to communicate with them, insist on having a lawyer present -- your lawyer, who is looking out for your interests.

For your own protection, and because I for selfish reasons want you free to do your show, ASK THE OTHER PARTY any time you are recording audio.

I don't expect to see him again, but I might just invite him in, give him headphones and sit him in the studio for our little chat.  That should throw him off his game.   8)

Also, I won't ask - I'll tell right at the start of a call:  "This line is recorded"  If they don't like it, they can hang up.

Seems like a good reason to exit their system and not vote.

You really should try to figure out how to Vote for Paul in the primeries. IT'll be a lot easier for you to do all your deminstrations if a majority of the police state and war, and taxes have been scaled back by Paul if he gets ellected.

ian do you have his contact info and name so i can call him and make inquiries about his inqiries?

Dave Ridley

do you have his supervisor's name?  I assume ayotte is that person.

oh and do you have objections if i call both?

It would be ALARM-BELLS weird if the AG herself showed up at anybody's door -- she doesn't even have enough time to half in all the bills her office requests to be submitted (hint, they are not generally, shall we say, pro-liberty)

Certainly it was a person "from her office"
It would be interesting to know who, specifically.

At this point, his identity will remain secret unless they decide to escalate.  I want to give them the opportunity to back off.

As someone who is planning on running for city council in the fall and looking for votes,  I would have to disagree.

It seems like a good reason to change the system.

Umm, . . . if voting really changed anything, it would be illegal.

For US President, or any election with more than say a few tens of thousands of votes, you're right.

For elections where it's not uncommon for a few dozen votes to mean the difference between a totalitarian and a libertarian, you're dangerously wrong.

I always advise my clients to say absolutely nothing to anyone from the government.  Don't even answer the door if they start coming around.  Ian, you wrote that you filled out the form, so you figured that you'd admit it to him; don't assume that they could ever prove that you'd actually filled out the form (or, assuming that they could prove that, prove that you had been the one who crossed out the paragraph).  The more work that they have to do, the less time that they have to pursue other investigations against other people, and the less likely that they are to be able to prosecute you if they decide to go after you (the government regularly prosecutes innocent people for perceived technical violations of obscure laws and administrative rules).

Ian seems to have found a reasonable compromise for now by crossing it out. Kudos for that. But do you actually believe in the legitimacy of democracy?

No, it is mob rule.

Exactly!

Ian, wasn't sure if you knew about my friend Tim Wallace's website...

I have even won .... and it didn't change anything.
