He was able to videotape the proceeding. The judge seemed to be interested in stopping him from taping while he made Ian come up in front of him and show him who the boss was.

If you can't videotape the court proceedings, surely you can audiotape them?  Isn't there a stenographer or whatever it's called?  Can you get copies of that?

Call the court and ask about the procedure to get the audio recording... You would be doing Kat a big favor.

I think she hasn't had the time or the energy to address this that is why we need others to help out. My time is pretty full, I spent a couple of hours of work time today getting the video, loading it and creating the stills. Ian got the camera into the court. Sean edited and Toby and Dale have been interfacing with officials and doing FreeMindsTV episode dealing with this. We all are stretched thin. Any others that can take on some of these tasks mean we get more accomplished.

The aspect ratio is not what I'd originally intended, but otherwise the footage came out well.  It seems that when the video was transferred from tape to the editing deck that it was somehow squished down to 2.35:1 instead of the 1.85:1 letterboxed that I'd originally shot it at.   ???

I'll shoot my next footage at 1.85:1 anamorphic instead of letterboxed so that if their software squishes it again it will come out looking as I intended it.

I think it would be preferable to get a copy of the audio. We can transcribe it outselves. Russell's audio is what the real value would be.

Dada, at this point I just think it would be important to get the audio which can be synched up with Ian's video and also used itself.

As for what folks can do...
Off the top of my head I would say...

We need people to write LTE's for the Keene Free Press and other media regarding their feels about Russell's incarceration and the broader subject of the Freedom to Travel and the threat of the National ID/citizen tracking aspects of the "Drivers License".

Write and or call the prison, prosecutor, court, police departments asking questions or stating your opinion on this matter.

Write Russell a letter to help make his time as pleasant as possible considering the boredom he must be facing. Print out stuff from the forum, the web, literature he might enjoy. The other benefit being the jailers will see that people care about what is happening.

Visit and post to other web forums to stimulate the conversations and interest in the issues and Russell's situation. Dada already primed the pump at a number of forums and there are discussions happening in these places.

Day 4, fasting update:  I'm doing well, not hungry at all anymore.  The only unpleasant effects have been a few short headaches (relieved with more water) and a little dizziness if I stand up too fast.  My blood pressure drops fairly low at the beginning of a fast but then comes up later.  That's what causes the dizziness.   I've lost 7lbs, but the weight loss rate should slow soon.  The fasting has made me a lot calmer.


Oh thanks for saying that Tom.  I have zero letters about Russell so far.

Hey Kat we need to all help. It is too much that this land entirely on the shoulders of the family of the prisoner.

Glad to hear your fast is going well.

I was wondering what the purpose of the fast is in this kind of situation. I know that Ghandi and his supporters practiced it, but don't really know what the reasons are.
