Anyone want a streetlight?

Anyone want a streetlight?  For some reason, one of the previous owners of my house installed not one but two streetlights out in the back.  One is attached to the barn, and we'll be keeping that one up in case we need lighting for a party or somesuch, but the other is not 20 feet away, on a telephone pole.  I don't even know where the switch is for that one, so it's pretty much useless to me.

If anyone wants it, please let me know.  I want it and the pole gone.  I don't feel like going up there to remove it, so if no one is interested, I'm just going to chainsaw the pole and let it get smashed when it falls.  But I hate to waste things for no reason, so if any of the Porcupines (or anyone else, for that matter, so feel free to ask your neighbors) wants to go up and get it, it's free for the taking.

I think my ladder will reach, or feel free to climb the pole if you have the right gear...

I don't know how things work there, but around here "security lights" (mercury vapor or other high pressure lights) are often leased from the electric company. You pay a little extra on the bill, they install the light.

Before taking a chainsaw to the pole and smashing the light, you might want to make sure that you own it, instead of the electric company.

But I do understand the temptation. I hate 'em.

Well, this is out in back of the house, wired to the house, not the utility poles, and I haven't seen mention of it on my PSNH bill, so I expect it has nothing to do with them.  I sure didn't sign any lease agreement, so they have no claim against me.

Half the houses around here seem to have them.  I don't see that I need two of them, that close together.
