eBaying shot glasses and other goods to make the move

I had to post a shameless -- very shameless -- plug.  I wasn't sure where to put it either, so feel free to move the thread if it belongs somewhere more fitting.  I'm selling some of my crap on ebay, so that I can afford to make the move to NH.  I'm hoping to find a place to stay as near to Ed and Elaine as possible.  I will be armed, and dangerous only to tyrants and other violent criminals.

I'll try to make a more proper list later on.  I have to rummage through the house and find things to sell.  The first on the casualty list will be my gigantic shot glass collection.  I've been collecting for about 8 years, and it's grown to many hundreds.  I have some pretty interesting ones, and some nice sets.  I've thrown a few up on ebay already.

My only moving disclaimer is that it will be impossible until June.  I'm counting on leaving in the beginning of June.  I'm waiting for my legal issues to resolve.  I've relieved my attorney of his obligation to "represent" me.  I will be defending myself in court from here on.  I expect it to be resolved before the move.  Other than that, I have to wait until June because of work and related things.

With that said, I look forward to making it out there!!!  It's much sooner than I had planned -- because I just can't wait any longer!!!  I still hope to buy land and stuff, but that will have to wait.  I need to get out of this craphole state of ILL-annoy (or state of insanity).  That, and we need as many able-bodied people as possible in the close vicinity of Ed and Elaine -- for obvious reasons.  See you soon in the free state :D

My ebay fantastic, spectacular, amazing, incredible goods

I think the manner of your move is smart. I sold and donated almost all of my physical possessions before my last move, keeping only what I could ship reasonably cheaply (based on value vs. weight) and what would fit in my small car. It was very freeing in a way that many Buddhists will understand- the whole clinging thing. It also left me feeling very unburdened by stuph that I had barely if ever touched for years. Unless you have EXTREMELY valuable furniture, it's just not financially practical to do a major cross-country move with a lot of stuph. It makes more sense to liquidate as much as possible and just buy new stuph.

Good luck to you and travel safely!

When I moved up here last month all I brought with me was whatever I could fit in my car.  I gave away my tv, furniture, bed and cd collection (500-600 discs!).  Although I did say I might be an indian giver and get some of that stuff back someday.  ;)

Good luck on your move SAK (and lastlady too!).

I took all my CDs and DVDs out of the plastic cases and put them in leather cases. You can carry a ton in a pretty small space that way.

I agree that getting rid of stuff can be extremely freeing. The old saying we don't own our stuff, our stuff owns us. I look forward to coming to NH with few material objects, it will be a rebirth of sorts. :D

Nice vid, tracy :D

3 sets of shot glasses ending tonight.  Have a shot, and bring me to NH at the same time!  :icon_thumleft: :bus:

Adding some more sets today.  Bidding on these sets will not only aid my invasion of New Hampshire, but it also supports MakeTheStand.com -- as I pay the hosting and all of that each month (we've got expensive hosting).

DON'T CLICK THIS LINK ;)

hehe thanks.  Yeah, I'm sorry too.  Damn thing is just not affordable unless you're rich.  One day I'd really like to own another.  There's just something about that body style that I love.  I LOVE the old huge-ass body pimpin Lincolns/Caddies.  The '79 is my favorite year.  Blah :P  need to pay back parents for legal fees and stuff.  This car needs to go :(  I'm gonna miss it.

I would also recommend putting your stuff on Craigslist.org. It is free so it doesn't hurt to have multiple postings.

also might be better for some larger items in which shipping is difficult.  :)
