Avatars are too small

Ever since the forum move, the avatars people have been able to upload are now tiny. :(

Puke

I don't find this a bad thing.
Giant avatars and signatures annoy me.  :-\

error

Well, you know, I can't get the detail to show very well in mine at anywhere below 80 pixels.

Puke

I think something like 100X100 pixel max is a good thing to have.
I had not really noticed, but the avatars are smaller aren't they.

Folks just need to learn how to work with the space alloted. They can't shrink 1280x840 to 80x80 and expect anyone to understand.

I can see error's avatar just fine. Tom Sawyer, being a graphic pro, has done a great job of coloring inside the lines.  ;)

error

Yeah, but it's currently limited to 65x65 unless you are Tom Sawyer. See, even your avatar got scrunched into, well, just look at it.

A scrunched spazzy porcupine?

Eh, mine works fine for me. I'm not even sure of the parameters.

I like bigger avatars. Most forums I've been too have 120x120 limits.

Of course, my home forum is way cool, and has widescreen avatars... 213x120 :)

hey kat,

any chance we could convince you to upgrade to vbulletin?

At least some older avatars were "grandfathered" in at the old 100x100(?) resolution. Mine was, for example, so it doesnt appear to be related to a poster being an admin or not. Any new avatars, whether uploaded or hosted elsewhere, are resampled down to 65x65 pixels.

I'm with error - if possible, it would be nice to see the older 100x100 sizes back. Can't read the "Baby Milk Plant" in my old picture, nor make out the details in rainey's new av (of the day), etc.
