I think that the rights of all young people should be fought for, not just veterans.  I also think that pandering to nationalism is kind of a lame tactic.

Dave Ridley

if pandering to nationalism will free ian, I will pander to nationalism.

Dan

That it took pandering to nationalism to point it out, if pointed out this way, is a statement within a statement.  I have no problems with that.  That's what the post-demonstration LTE's are for.

I would like to see the delegation of authority to legislate drinking age...

If I were charged with serving an underaged drinker, that would be my first attack...

Please show the nexus of jurisdiction.

Jeff Adcock, though he is thirty, is an Iraq War Veteran. (he is the LP candidate for Executive Council, Fourth District).

He may know someone who is 18-20. I'll ask.

I'm not a Iraq vet, but i did train well over 1800 marines in combat marksmanship (I was the BN marksmanship instructor for 20 months, the battalion had about 1000 marines in it)
Although i never went, i have a pretty good idea of what the marines have to do over there (basically just look good for the cameras,You get in trouble if your uniform isn't perfect)
I'm also 22 so I wouldn't be good for that disobedience, but I have a better idea. I could Hold a sign that says "Will any of you Volunteer to take my spot for Iraq?"
Pretty much There trying to send me to Iraq for 7 months, but I obviously think thats some bullshit, I was thinking when I'm home for leave i could hold a sign in uniform asking if anyone would take my spot.
I would probably get the ol 'un-patriotic attack' but if your not willing to go, why would you ever send anyone else? I would much rather be Defending our borders and things of that nature.

My brother's an Iraq war vet, but he's 22 and drunk all the time anyway.

I'm considering performing my first prescheduled act of civil disobedience, probably sometime in July.   I'm leaning toward the "serve wine to a 20 year old veteran" idea.

What I would need is a qualifying Iraq veteran...someone between 18 and 20...willing to receive the drink.

Who can find me a volunteer?

If I do this I will first inform the relevant bureaucracies of the time and place; there will be no surprises for them in that regard.  I have not decided for sure to do it.

I think every 18-20 year old Iraq War vet is still in Iraq. They're still of a ripe young age to be forced into five more tours.

Nobody who's wounded, been through Walter Reed, and is now bitching about how much the VA sucks?

I know alot of guys like that, some guys get kicked out cause of a medical reason, or somking weed, none of them that live in the NH area though, and alot of them like the VA, but i think its cause they dont really know how it works yet, I dont even know, except you get 2nd rate treatment.

Oh yeah, it's because they have no clue. Once they get some actual experience with the VA bureaucracy, which is even slower than the military bureaucracy, they'll change their tune.
