I was thinking about writing an article about my own experiences in public schools...how much I hated it and never wanted to put my own daughter through that.  Anyone else interested in writing up their experiences?

It was, oh, so long ago.

Kat, I'd love to share my high school experience if it'd help. My teachers loved the crap out of me. They tried so hard to keep me in school. They even tried adjusting my schedule so I didn't have to get to school so early in the AM.They must have thought I had a hard time with mornings or something...they were going to let me come in at 8am instead of 7am....I couldn't wait to turn 16 so I could drop out.I'd get to school and promptly leave out the back door. Race to the library and read all day long. When I saw kids come in, I knew it was safe to be seen on the streets. The librarians never turned me in, not once.
Even after I dropped out, the principal asked me if I'd ever like to come back and speak to the students.....I don't think he really thought that through come to think about it....obviously, I'd have an anti school message....

Wow, that would be excellent!  I'd like to hear your story, myself :)

If anyone has any good stories or wants to add to Kat's page....go for it!
Hopefully we can get some students to go crazy with the wiki.

That would be awesome...to get some high school kids adding their experiences!  I'm sure they have stories.  Heck, I can get stories out of Kira's public school friend.

I have a GREAT story from High School math...... I'll write it up for the page.

What we need the most are stories about what's going on in NH schools right now, more than what the newspapers are feeding us.  Ed Nail over at the Coalition of NH Taxpayers calls them "happy papers" b/c they only give the good news about schools LOL.

A few years ago I attended a three part information night on the drug problem at the Londonderry High School. I listened to kids, police and administrators go on and on about this huge problem we have. They wanted to do a study and send a questionaire out to all the students. The last night of the series one of the "guidance" counselors spoke. In a nut shell the series was part of the process to get state and federal funding. Seemed to me that they were inflateing the problem to get the money.
