Tea (of the iced and sweetened variety)

As a Southerner, I feel this question is very important to me.  Do restaurants in New Hampshire serve iced tea?  Do the ones that serve iced tea have both unsweetened and sweetened varieties?  (It is better to sweeten tea while it is hot in order to aid in dissolving the sugar, then chill it for serving.  If you went to a government school and didn't know that, I forgive you.)

I have rarely found pre-sweetened tea north of the bible belt. It starts phasing out in Tennessee & North Carolina. Once you get a little further north, any restaurant server not originally from the south looks at you like you're touched in the head for expecting her/him to sweeten your tea for you. Or for asking for it unsweetened, for that matter. It's just iced tea at that point.

I get unsweetened iced tea once in a while, my girlfriend gets it quite a bit more than I.  A few places haven't offered it.  Some places only offer pre-sweetened iced tea, but I don't go for that myself.  They tend to put flavors in it . . .

You could always bring along some simple syrup if you're that into it . . .

I went to government schools and I know that. But, being a Southerner, that's how our government schools served tea.  ;)

I actually prefer unsweetened. But if it's sweet, it's got to be sweetened with cane sugar while hot.

What's up with that raspberry tea?   Ugh.  I'm a midwesterner, but people up here apparently think I'm a southerner.  I haven't had any good tea up here.  Not sure where to go?

I was kinda pissed not to find anything other than Arizona green tea or whatever in the grocery stores/gas stations.

Seems like the sweet tea is usually flavored.  I don't drink it but lots of restaurants ask if I want it sweet or not.

Most restaurants I've asked for iced tea in, ask if I want it sweetened or not.  However their "sweetened" is not as sweet as most "sweet tea" that I've had.  And it's typically the pre-made stuff from the soda fountain, then, not fresh-brewed.

Probably why I rarely order iced tea in restaurants...

The unsweet tea seems to be fresh brewed, though.

I like putting thick organic sugar in cold iced tea; it lays on the bottom of the glass and then I suck the sugar up with a straw and take a drink of the iced tea.   :)

Maybe we should all ask Keith if he can serve sweet tea at Murphy's?

Tennessee... Alabama... The "I'm my own grandpa" jokes are pretty much the same there.
Except they're part of the family bible record.

Hard to tell those 'marry your aunt' states apart ;D

First time I told Mary I loved her, she said, "Like a sister, right?"

Well, umm, no, it was a very inappropriate moment to feel like brother and sister, even if I am from Arkansas...

Funny, I always heard the same about the "marry your sheep" New England states!

No joke.  I've heard the incest jokes a couple times up here already (been here 2 months) and have had 2 different people back home ask if the stories about Yankees and Sheep are true.
:o :o :o

I guess every group of people has degrading stereotypes...
