Wouldn't it be better to have fewer people (at the protest) that more people can see?

What do you mean? :)

Bald Eagle

He means, wouldn't it be better to have the event where it would be more visible to the public, but with less protestors showing up, rather than have hundreds at PorCFest protest with less public exposure.

Depends if we're relying on live exposure or taped exposure.  My vote is for a BIG protest on tape that can be distributed widely, as well as be reported on live or on the News at 11.

We need better footage of FSP-related activities.  Most of the protests I've seen have been 5 or 6 people holding signs.  At least that's the footage it seems we've ended up with.  Having a well-documented BIG protest where the resulting footage can be collected and edited into something really good would benefit us in the long run.

Thanks!  I think bigger is better in this case too. :)

Hmm.. that is a good point, I must admit. Do you really think it will make a big difference in the numbers to have it at Gunstock rather than Weirs Beach? I'm not familiar with either location. If it were a pretty public place that wasn't very far away, seems like we could get a lot of Porcfesters to participate but if it's much a drive that could be discouraging for many people.

Insurgent

While there isn't quite as much traffic on the highway leading to Gunstock as there is likely to be at Weirs, perhaps a good spot for the vigil would be at the turnoff coming in to Gunstock. It's still right there at PorcFest, but visible to every passing motorist.

Let's do it at Gunstock in the parking lot.
We will know where it is .... outsiders can find it ... we won't be stepping on anyone's toes in a busier location that we have not scouted out.
Thursday night at dusk ...

sunset is about 8pm NHFT 8:45government time
dark by 9:30

candles
paper cups
pro Brown    anti Fed       signs
guitars
kazoos
v-masks

Can we do it on Saturday, the 23rd too?  I'm not sure if I can make it Thursday, that's the 21st right?  I am night blind and won't be able to drive home and I don't think Rick would be able to take us Thursday.  He might though but we wouldn't get there until 8:30, what time would we blow the candles out?

would someone be willing to be listed as an alternate contact?  preferably someone with a cell?   it would be nice to have two alternates with cells actually since i dont know if just any cell will work at gunstock.

Dave Ridley

is there a place you can go if it rains?

Kat Kanning

error

I don't have the slightest idea if my cell phone will work at Gunstock. If it doesn't, I have another trick up my sleeve.

I just asked Rick if we could go but he has to go to work the next morning so I'm trying to figure something out because I really want to do this.
I went to a candle light vigil in Maryland about the Iraq war and I really like them.  I could stay all night if we're going to do this all night long otherwise I'd have no where for the kids and I to sleep if Rick drops us off. :-\
