what dreams do you have of things we might be able to do by 2010?

If the current threat of eroding liberty in NH is at least held at bay by 2010 I'd be fairly satisfied. Any other goals achieved in that short a time period would be gravy.

Professional licensing for politicians:  they love licensing laws so much, how about we require them to hold and maintain in good standing "public servant" licenses.  Any DUI's, financial hanky-panky, or other morally turpitudinous actions get them suspended!

Direct Civillian Supervision of the Cops:  no more wondering who watches the watchers.  No more Internal Affairs or Blue Wall of silence.  I like the idea of an elected board of regular folks (grocers, businessmen, teachers, etc.) who vigorously investigate and harshly punish police improprieties.

Also, just brainsytorming here, but what about a "Tape the Crime" bill?  ALL police interactions with the public must be taped BY THE COPS, or there is no crime.  Any traffic stops, drug busts (yeck!), interrogations, etc. must be documented on readily-available-to-the-public video, or no prosecution can take place.  Sure it will make their jobs tougher, but it will more importantly protect the public.

I don't know about going so far as to say no tape no crime as there are crimes such as murder where it isn't until after the fact that police have to put together the facts of what happened.

But one doable way to achieve what you are talking about would be to take the dash cams in cars one step further... helmet/ hat cams.  They can put video cameras in cell phones so I'm sure they can put together a light weight camera in a hat which sends a feed back to a central computer which records all activity.

- Dream up ideas for political cartoons and have one of our members draw them.  My idea right now is a picture of Stephen Monier saying something about keeping open lines of communication with the Browns.  In the background would be one of his guys cutting their phone line LOL.

I like this idea too. I'm tempted to take some art classes and pursue this further.

They built the Leviathan one small piece at a time, over a period of 5 or 6 generations.
Realistically, deconstructing it peacefully will take a generation or two.

Probably true. However, I think we can erode a lot of the support they need from regular people to be able to abuse people's rights. For instance, we can start dispelling myths like that police officers are especially deserving of our trust and cooperation. It's not so much what they're making unlawful as what they're willing to do to lots of innocent people, supposedly to enforce laws, that scares me the most.

dalebert go to class if you want but I vote we make some NH political cartoons together *now* !   think you can do my idea above?

I'm willing to give it my best shot. My drawing is still pretty amateurish but it might be good enough to convey the idea which is what's important, right?

Will do. Just keep in mind that the seemingly simple Ron Paul cartoon took me all day to finally get looking halfway decent. An expert artist could probalby crank something like that out in no time.

I like the cartoon... nothing wrong with it at all.  :)
Here is a gif version a lot smaller file size.

How about establishing an FSP party and running candidates on that ticket?

There's already an LP.
By 2010 if people were winning on that ticket, I'd smoke a bong hit for jesus.

and Denis does not like to smoke.

If the LP works on a local election they might get someone in the state house.
