All:
Today, most of the Christian world is
oblivious as to why Lucifer/Satan despises the Jews with a passion for many
reasons. You will not rightly understand the Bible unless you see the
big picture. Presbyterians and United Methodists are on record of
divesting their assets from Israeli businesses and American companies that do
business with Israel. Other denominations in the National Council of
Churches have made it clear they wish to disassociate with the Jews and
Israel.
Someone posted to me recently there was no such thing as
"Replacement" Theology. Denial is not an excuse for belief for an
educated person. Lots of humanity hate the Jews, and no one can dispute
that reality. Regardless of the reason for humanity, nations, and
religious groups have little regard for the Jews. There is ample
evidence for much of that justification of hatred, but we need to look at the
matter from a global or systemic panorama.
The reason that
Lucifer/Satan hates the Jews are as follows:
1. God chose them to
be His witness to the world.
2. Through the Jews God gave the
world the Bible.
3. Through the Jews God gave the world the
Messiah, Jesus Christ.
4. God has promised that He will save a
great remnant of them.
5. God has promised that through that
remnant He will bless all the nations of the world during the
Millennial reign of Christ Jesus.
Make no mistake about it,
Lucifer/Satan is determined to destroy every last Jew on the planet so that
God cannot keep His promises to them.
Frederick the Great once demanded
proof in one word that the Bible is inspired. The answer provided was
the "Jews".
Bible faith is not blind religious faith; it is faith based
on the Word of God who cannot lie, and that Word is authenticated by
"Many infallible proofs" -(Acts 1:3). The fact is,
Israel's history, continued existence, return to the land, geography, and
archeology are among the chief of these.
In 1754, Bishop Thomas Newton
wrote of the Jews: "There preservation is really one of the most
illustrative acts of Divine Providence. They are dispersed among all
nations, yet not confounded with any. ... They can produce their pedigree
from the beginning of the word. ... After wars, massacres, and persecutions
they still subsist; they are still quite numerous. What but a
supernatural power could have preserved them in such a manner as no other
nation on earth has been preserved?"
Nothing is as revealing how
one thinks of the Jews, than is one's belief about the Bible and
understanding, than is that of the Jews. This is particularly so of
Christians. For people who either claim they know their Bible or ought
to and still say that God is through with the Jews simply belies their
Anti-Semitism or ignorance of the Biblical message.
While many will
tell you "Replacement" theology began in the 5th century AD, through the
teachings of Augustine, it actually began much earlier, however, it did get
prime-time billing with Augustine. It then spread throughout the Roman
Catholic Church, later Protestantism, and Orthodox Catholic churches because
they all placed Augustine on a pedestal.
Justin Martyr around 160 AD in
speaking to a Jew said: "The Scriptures are not yours, but
ours."
Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyon around 177 AD declared:
"Jews are disinherited from the grace of God."
Tertullian
(160-230 AD), in his Treatise, 'Against the Jews' announced that
"God had rejected the Jews in favor of Christians."
In the
early 4th century, historian, Eusebius wrote that the promises of the Hebrew
Jews were for Christians and not the Jews, and the curses were for the
Jews. He argued that the Church was the continuation of the Old
Testament and thus "superseded" Judaism. Hence, the theological term
"supersessionism" or "Replacement" theology. The young church as it
became lesser in numbers of Jewish believers, and more Gentile in ethnicity
makeup, declared itself to be the true Israel, or "Israel according to the
Spirit," heir to the Divine Promises. They found it essential to
discredit "Israel according to the flesh" to prove that God had cast aside
His people and transferred His love to the Christians.
In 306 AD
Constatine became the first Roman Emperor. In 321 AD, he made
Christianity the official religion of the Empire, to the exclusion of all
other religions. This signaled the end of the persecution of
Christians, but the beginning of the persecution and discrimination of the
Jewish people.
At the Council of Nicea in 325 AD and reading from
Eusebius (he was a Jew, employed as a Roman historian), in a letter of the
Emperor Constantine to all those not present at the Council:
"When
the question relative to the sacred festival of Easter arose, it was
universally thought that it would be convenient that all should keep
the feast on one day; it was declared to be particularly unworthy of the Lord
(Leviticus 23), to follow the customs (the calculations) of the Jews who had
soiled their hands with the most fearful of crimes, and whose minds were
blinded. In rejecting their custom we may transmit to our decendants
the legitimate mode of celebrating Easter. We ought not therefore to
have anything in common with the Jews, for the Savior has shown us another
way; our worship following a more legitimate and more
convenient course (the order of the days of the week): and consequently in
unanimously adopting this mode, we desire, dearest brethren to separate
ourselves from the detestable company of the Jews. For it is truly
shameful for us to here them boast that without their
direction we could not keep this feast. How can they be in
the right, they who, after the death of the Savior, have no longer been led
by reason but by wild violence, as their delusion may urge them? They
do not possess the truth in this Easter question, for in their blindness and
repugnance to all improvements they frequently celebrate two passovers in
the same year. We could not imitate those who are openly in
error."
"How, then, could we follow those Jews who are most certainly
blinded by error? For to celebrate a passover twice in one year, is
totally inadmissible. But even if this were not so it would still be
your duty to not tarnish your soul by communication with such wicked people
(the Jew) you should consider not only that the number churches in those
provinces make a majority, but also that it is right to demand what our
reason approval, and that we should have nothing in common with the
Jews."
St. Jerome (347-407 AD) describes the Jews as
"...serpents, wearing the image of Judas, their Psalms and prayers are the
braying of donkeys."
At the end of the 4th century AD, the Bishop of
Antioch, John Chrysostom (golden tongue John), the great orator, wrote a
series of eight sermons against the Jews. To quote him, "the
synagogue is not only a brothel and a theater, it is also a den of
robbers and a lodging for wild beasts. No Jew adores God... Jews
are inveterate murderers possessed by the devil, their debauchery and
drunkenness gives them the manner of the pig."
In the 5th century
AD, the burning question was: "If the Jews and Judaism were cursed by
God, then how can you explain their continued existence?" He
maintained that, "even though the Jews deserved the most severe punishment
for having "killed our Jesus" but that they have been kept alive by Divine
Providence to serve, together with their Scriptures, as witness to the truth
of Christianity."
The modern world today, and 90% of the
church, those that hold on to this heresy by arguing that:
1.
The Nation of Israel is not a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy based upon
their understanding of Romans 2:23-29 where Paul states a true Jew is one who
worships God in his heart as opposed to one who is focused on outward
appearances. Since Israel is a secular state, in their opinion, it has
not fulfilled prophecy.
2. The 1947 partition of the land by the
UN was illegal: The acquisition of the land violates Hague regulations
and the UN Charter by acquiring territory by force.
3. The State
of Israel has created chaos from the moment it was birthed and has promoted
everything from Communism to America's debt.
4. Old Testament
laws about distributing the land to Israel no longer applies based on Hebrews
7:11-12.
5. There is no longer a division between Jew and Gentile
based on Ephesians 2:11-15.
6. Jews did not come to establish an
earthly kingdom based on John 18:36.
7. Christ Jesus was focused
on the heavenly, not the earthly based on Hebrews 12:22-29.
These seven
points are the basis for present day "Replacement" theology beliefs.
However, there are rebuttal points that need expressed.
As to point #1,
the current nation of Israel is, in fact, a fulfillment of Biblical
prophecy. Yes, the majority of Israel today is secular, 90% in fact, but
there are an impressive number of Jews in Israel who believe in Jesus Christ
and therefore are true Jews according to the definition of what a true Jew is
in Romans 2. Just because they are outnumbered by false Jews does not
give anyone the right to wipe them out. Even Jesus spoke in his parable
about the wheat and the tares that the tares should not be pulled out until
the harvest, which refers to when Christ will sit on His throne to judge all
men at the end of days. God relates in Scripture, Isaiah 10:20-22, and
Zephaniah 3:12-20 that there would always be a remnant of true believers in
the midst of the physical nation of Israel. The Bible describes the
Jews' return to the land in two phases: 1. In unbelief, and 2. In
belief.
In Amos 9, the land calls Israel the sinful kingdom and talks
about punishing them, but after their punishment comes the blessing that,
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake
the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the
mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I
will bring against the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall
build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards,
and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of
them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be
pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, saith the LORD thy
God." --(Amos 9:13-15).
As to point #2, this is a
literal land spoken of in this prophecy and God promises that once Israel is
in it, they would not only prosper, but they would REMAIN in it. He also
confirmed this through Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 36:5-15 when God was upset
by the idea of the Gentiles to distribute His land that He promised to Israel
as if they owned it. God then went on to promise that Israel would no
longer be bereaved of having their own people dwelling in their land and He
would cause them to prosper in their land. Thus far, He has fulfilled
his prophecies through Israel. They have been fruitful in their land
and the whole world has benefited from many of their inventions and products
such as voice mail, the first computer anti-virus technology, and the cell
phone. God can use anyone He chooses to fulfill His prophecies and in
1947-48, He used the United Nations. He does not care about UN
directives and regulations. He does what He pleases Him, since He is
the Sovereign, and is not going to allow human laws set up by men to stop
His plans.
Regarding point #3, Israel is by no means a perfect nation,
as so with any other nation, and the Jews are sinful people. Some Jews
are guilty of committing great evil, like the attack on the USS Liberty in
1967. But this is hardly a promise for doing away with the
nation. The USA is the poster child for the production of pornography,
the illegal drug trade, abortion, and international corruption and greed but
we argue and fight against those who want to destroy us. Both Russia and
China have been responsible for the violation of human rights and have done
more than any other nation to spread Communism, but no one is calling for
their annihilation. Many Islamic nations violate women's rights and
commit various atrocities, but we're not trying to wipe them off the face of
the planet. So why is it that Israel should be treated any
differently?
Point #4 is taking Hebrews 7 out of context.
Hebrews is making the point that the Mosaic Law has no bearing on a man's
relationship with God any longer. There is no longer the need for the
Law or a Levitical priesthood since God's grace by faith in Jesus Christ
replaces the Mosaic Covenant. It has no application to the fact that
God said Israel would b established as a nation in the Earth.
With
regards to point #5, there is no distinction in God's spiritual kingdom
between Jews and Gentiles when they become believers in Christ Jesus, but
this does not apply to how God sets up nations in the Earth. We still
have Chinese Christians in China, Korean Christians in North Korea,
etc. So what's up with the argument against having Israeli Christians
living in a state of Israel? None, it's pure nonsense.
Point #6
and #7 just highlights the fact that Jesus was not trying to establish a
nation on earth where His followers would segregate themselves from the rest
of the world. We are truly citizens of a spiritual kingdom, but we are
allowed to live anywhere God allows us to live on Earth. Just because
Jesus did not come to reign as a physical king of the present earthly nation
of Israel does not mean that Israel has no right to exist. Israel
exists because God promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that their physical
descendants would dwell in the land forever. Furthermore, it did factor
in a Second Coming of the Lord and a Millennial reign on Earth for 1,000
years.
Since it is clear that "Replacement" theologians, preachers,
teachers, priests, pastors, and lay people have not rightly divided the Word
of Truth, it becomes quite easy to expose the true intentions behind their
arguments. One such intention is that they are simply looking for any
justification for their hatred of the Jews and are happy to twist God's Word
to encourage themselves in their hatred. Another intention is that they
covet Israel's land. Religious organizations adhering to "Replacement"
theology think they have a right to the lands where Jesus walked because they
think of themselves as being Jesus' true successors. They see the
Israelis as standing in the way of owning the land that belongs to them, so
they come up with all types of arguments to make the Jews to look as evil as
possible. Brother Nathaniel Kapner comes to mind immediately. He has a
web site and his theme is to attack the Jews. Brother Kapner was born a
Jew, converted to the Greek Orthodox Church, and lives in a monastery on the
west slope of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The Vatican and the RCC
are less viral than Bro. Kapner but subtly go about through the use of
secrecy and deceit to manipulate the destiny of the Holy Land. But God makes
it clear in His Word that He intended those lands for physical Israel, i.e.,
the Jews and it's only when Christ Jesus returns with His saints that He will
establish the land as the possession of all of His followers even if in he
meantime the Antichrist will eventually broker a deal for all interested
parties to share Jerusalem.
By their actions, they show themselves to
be hypocrites. They, on the one hand, claim that God's kingdom is
purely spiritual and has nothing to do with the land ownership or physical
places while, on the other hand, they seek to possess the physical land to
use that physical land to promote themselve as being valid. So, really
they are not only concerned about spiritual things as they claim.
"Replacement" theology advocates and followers are unwittingly adding to the
worldwide hatred of Israel with which will lead to the fulfillment of
Biblical prophecy, such as Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38-39, and Revelation, where it
talks about all the nations of the Earth rising up together in an attempt to
annihilate Israel at the Battle of Armageddon.
If "Replacement"
theology were a Godly doctrine, it would not ignore what the apostle Paul had
to say about Israel as a nation in Romans 11, "I say then,
hath God cast away His people? God forbid. For I am an
Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.... Even
so then at the present time also there is a remnant according to the election
of grace... And if some of the branches [Israel] be broken off, and
thou, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them
partakers of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the
branches [Israel]. But if thou boast, the bearest not the root, but the
root thee. Thou wilt say then, the branches [Israel] were broken off,
that I might be grafted in. Well: Because of unbelief they were
broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high minded, but fear:
for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not
thee... For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of
this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own
conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until
the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. ... As concerning the Gospel, they
are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved
for the Father's sakes.
As a retired pastor, and Bible
teacher, I found it important to be well read, reading all the literature
published; I subscribed to all the different theological publications,
journals, newsletters, magazines. At one point in my life I subscribed
to close to 100 periodicals and journals. When I retired at 75, I had
to evaluate which publications I could no longer justify or which not
renew. I am familiar with all the different theological points of view,
denominational beliefs and doctrinal statements. I could spot a
person's theological bias in short order.
Those that try to hide their
bias against Israel, the Jews, their "Replacement" theology easily shows
through the vineer. I've seen so much of it to be fooled by their
deceptions.
As the reader has seen where this Luciferian doctrine began
and how it has been used by Lucifer to drive a wedge between the Jew and the
Christian and the world as a whole will become further evidence in my next
segment. If you are not conscious of the power of Lucifer/Satan in the
world by now, it is painfully clear Lucifer uses even the Christian to be a
surrogate to wage his war against God's people. Don't allow Lucifer to
manipulate you into buying his pack of lies regarding "Replacement"
theology.
God bless,
Pastor
