I was thinking that over the serious "news theme" we could have a montage of Keene shots interspersed with over the shoulder shots of "Shorty" putting a microphone up to people. We never see his face, just one of those Elmer Fudd style hats from behind and peoples reaction to him. Then when the music changes you are in the studio with the guest host.
