Well,
I am for a law that shields us from bogus litigation.  How many people keep quiet thinking there is a organization with deep pockets ready to rip your financial life apart.

Time to protect us and I think this does, well at lease for NY

This was probably sparked by the recent airline flight where a bunch of passengers complained that some of the other passengers were behaving suspiciously. A group of arabic men were praying loudly, refused to sit in their assigned seats (spreading themselves out around the plane even though they were traveling together, were praising Saddam and cursing the US, were traveling without luggage, and all of them requested seatbelt extension even though none of them were overweight.

When passengers complained and the pilot had them escorted off the plane, they immediately filed a civil suit against the airline and anyone who had complained.  The whole stupid circus appeared to be a set up for a lawsuit.

If you were a passenger on that flight, what would you have done?

Would you think twice about opening your mouth to complain about obviously suspicious activities if you thought you'd get wiped out financially just for opening your mouth?

We live in a weird world.

I love how they are pretending that this is a law to protect people who would like to report someone as a terrorist...when in reality this is just another way for "them" to come and haul you off and rip your house apart and call you a terrorist without having to tell you why.

Fed: You, sir, are a terrorist. You are coming with us, we don't have to tell you what you're being charged with, if anything, and we will hold you for as long as we'd like.
Citizen: This is unbelievable because I'm a not a terrorist, what evidence do you have to support this claim?
Fed: We have to protect our sources, you've been fingered as a terrorist and we believe this to be true.

Ugh. First it was "She's a witch! Burn her!", then it was "He's a Communist, lock him up!", now it'll be..."She's a terrorist...." and people jsut disappear.

Fantastic.

You know, RattyDog, when you first started posting I thought you were just a flash in the pan "drama queen"... but I see now that you really do get it -- probably more so than most of us.

At any rate, you always manage to sum things up with such perfect eloquence.  +1 for you!!

This is terrible, now if you neighbor doesn't like you they can call the cops and have them arrest you possibly loose your job for missing work and you cant even go after them in a small claims court to get some compensation for the false claims, slander and liable..loss of wages etc..

You can't do shit about it.. and even worse, with bush's executive orders the feds can take all your money and assets, and you go straight to Guantanamo, with no trial no evidence.. we all saw what happened to the filibusterer on habeas corpus yesterday..

Yeah this is scary crap...its like the commie scares and the Japs in the prison camps of recent history in this country..   This is really bad stuff.. really really bad.
