CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- A Concord (New Hampshire) man is charged with growing marijuana up and down Interstate 89.

Police suspected 37-year-old Frank Drake had numerous pot gardens along the side of highway, so they dropped some undercover troopers off early yesterday when they got a tip that he would be tending his crop.

Police say Drake was arrested around 1:40 yesterday morning as he watered the plants. Troopers say he was carrying a .357 handgun at the time.

Investigators say they seized 44 high quality marijuana plants on the southbound side of the highway and 88 on the northbound side. Police estimated the street value at $132,000.

My two cents:And of course carrying a hand gun is not a crime in New Hampshire.  It is in less intelligent parts of The United States, but not in New Hampshire.

If they take it Federal, he is looking at an additional 5 years for the gun on top of the 5+ years for the plants.

I talked to my ex tonite face to face and she said that when she got her dui last week or so the next morning the state police came to the jail and brought her in a private room with a tape recorder and asked her if i was growing pot out in the woods ,she said no.he said i helped you round up your cats the other day can't you help us out. But i don't believe he offered any deals. then they asked her if i spend alot of time in the woods. she said i take the dogs swimming at the pond they wanted to know where.
so i get arrested in 1991 convicted in 1992 get off parole in 1996 and i'm still getting harrassed about a few fucking worthless pot plants according to the paper several pounds once you weigh the dirt. They got nothing better to do than set someone trying to make a living and doing it well. Thats what pisses e'm off. I would never grow pot again unless i knew i couldn't go to prison for it. i'm not much into hangin with murderers and kiddie rapers. They can have the prison.

There can't be any real crime left in America anymore.  275,000,000 people in America and the cops are wondering if Joe is growing weeds on his property.

In other parts of New Hampshire their sending multiple officers to stake out someone who is growing less than a 100 plants beside the road.

If my math is correct I'm estimating 4 police officers to every supposed criminal, most of whom are nonviolent, and a 60 to 1 advantage on violent criminals.

Just out of curiosity though, I wonder how pissed this guy would be if he came across one of his pot gardens, and found someone else toking it up...

hahahaha,

Marijuana, yeah, I support the idea that you should be able to grow it on your property.

But up and down the interstate? Dude, thats just wrong.

Hell, way back in the day, when my uncle was still alive, he used to grow his plants amongst the tomatoes in Grandma's garden. hahaha, I wonder if she ever caught on...

Yeah, it's real funny when people face 10+ years in prison. That's more time than bank robbery.

Might have something to do with the fact that it's illegal no matter where you grow it, so he'd rather not have them on his property.

If it was legal he'd grow them in his garden. Heck, if it was legal I'd grow them in my garden and sell them.

I agree. That is why the news media makes such a big deal over every little thing for days.

I bet they are just pissed because they can't seize the state property and make it their own. Bet your ass they are searching his house for cash as we speak.
