Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children's bedrooms.

Er, if the parents want to know, why don't they just search the kids' rooms themselves?

That would be a violation of the parents' duty to respect their children's privacy.

Nope. Previously, they were doing gun searches in the high-crime poor neighboorhoods without even bothering to ask for permission.

What is the age of the child?
In gun crimes the "gun grabbers" use the age of 25?
or could it be any child (no matter what his/her age) living with a parent?

Article talks of teenagers under seventeen.

The only thing the cops need to search an entire house is the consent of one person living there. This tactic of going after parents because their children might have guns is just a clever way to find someone to consent by playing on their fears.

I wonder if they're suckering the parents into believing that everything will turn out just fine if they find contraband, and nobody will be facing massive legal bills following arrest and prosecution.

That's what I was thinking. Can't wait to see what they bribe / threaten with when they meet with resistance. The will be met with resistance won't they?

Won't they?

Guys............

It's so sad to see how the very cradle of American liberty has degenerated into the People's Soviet Socialist Republic. :'(

Hopefully parents won't be blindisded into letting the thugs in.

kola

they are clever sonofabitches aren't they?

and they prey on the weak...just like wild fricken animals.

Its been like this in this state since the sixties. Not sure what happened exactly. Its so bad most folk in this state are raised heavily socialist and don't even know it. They make fun of New Hampshire-ites, saying they're backward, hick and gun-crazy. I can't tell you how many times I've heard a Massasocialist snort and make some kind of derisive comment about the New Hampshire slogan. Yeah, its bad here. REALLY bad.
