Weeeeeeeell....I won't be working that day and nothing beats driving in the early morning X'mas day. No one else on the road, it's great! It's an excuse to take photos too.

Since you ask so nicely I guess I'll oblige.

I can bring my iPod to block out the music.  :icon_pirat:

But, I love the holiday itself - not so much for the 'holiday' but for spending time with friends and family and having time to enjoy life.  I love those first few snowfalls, and I love the lights on the trees...  but I'm just a romantic.  Can't help it!
I usually use the work nostalgic instead of romantic (its a guy thing).   ;)

Btw, I love the music, at least the traditional stuff.  I really dislike the souped up modern versions of traditional music.  New music about Christmas is okay, but don't mess with the originals.
Some one mentioned tv.  It is not Christmas without watching it is a wonderful life at least once.  It makes me very,...nostalgic.

Heck, I pulled the DVD out a couple months ago and watched it just because.

Christmas is actually a wonderful time of year - a time to be with friends and family. It's when people let the commercialism and the pressures we create for ourselves get in the way of just enjoying the season that Christmas becomes unpleasant. Simplifying things and remembering what is really important has made Christmas more enjoyable for me over the years.

And sorry, I enjoy the Christmas music.  :icon_santa:  Fa la la la la la la la la.

One of the worst parts of SoCal .... I have actually been in traffic jams on Christmas day. :o That just really ruins the whole spirit of the day.

Teaching children to believe in the existence of Santa is a good way to open the door to getting them to believe in the existence of gods, too.

I disagree J.  In my family it was sacrilege to proclaim Santa as real.  We grew up being told he was just a character just like Big Bird and Cookie Monster...  wait, Snufalufagus isn't real???!!!!

But that doesn't change the fact that it works for those who do promote the Santa myth.

It did, when Coke delivered it to the masses.

He didn't kill Santa.  He launches Santa into space where he continues to amass power.  Santa is evil.
