I have a hypothetical question

What would you do if cops or soldiers, etc. came to your door to take your guns?

I read an article about Martial Law not to long ago and the guy that wrote it used to be some high ranking military guy.  So anyways he said if you think you can win against "them" when they come knocking your delusional because they are highly trained and were not.

I really don't have an answer to the question I'm asking that's why I want to see if there are any good suggestions.  This ex-military guy suggests just giving the guns over and maybe burying a gun or 2, well sealed somewhere.  My problem with that is what if when "they", come knocking and want to harm my children then I'm left with no defense at all. :-\

sub question:
If you are not going to use your guns when cops/soldiers come to make you totally helpless before them, when are you?

I don't know.  I mean what if let's just say I saw "them" knocking on my door and shot them and they were  there for some other reason.

It's so confusing!  I just want a nice world for everyone where these questions didn't even have to be thought of.

To begin with, don't keep all of your eggs in one basket.

also,

Taking your guns could be effective only if you could not get more.  So, hide some of your guns now, then in the event they start shutting down gunshops, hide the rest.

The rules of engagement should be:

1)  Retreat
2)  Reform
3)  Assess the situtation
4)  Formulate a plan
5)  Follow the plan

Much of formulating a plan is assessing options before the challenge.

High ranking military guy is half right.
To beat such an overwhelming enemy one must either destroy his ability to obtain his goal or destroy his willingness to achieve his goal.

Deception and misdirection are effective tools.
Obvious VDO cameras and connections to people who will shine attention on you are essential.

Video recording is key.

You have the legal right to defend yourself.

You have a legal right to own weapons.

I'd skip the video camera under martial law...

Never answer the door for the police.

Its pretty simple Rainey. If someone kicks in your door do you think they are bringing you birthday cake? maybe they just want to talk? mmm no..I don't think so.

If they knock my door down I will assume they are an immediate threat to my family and me. A knock on the door is a bit different than them kicking it in.

When there is a threat to my private home, property, and family, I will defend it.

Do you have some sort of formulation or tactic that allows you to defend yourself against a surprise attack by five or six trained men with automatic weapons?  Or is the suicide of a courageous BB gun an adequate response?

Without getting into details (for obvious reasons) I have taken measures to eliminate or at least higly reduce the chances of  any "surprise" attacks...and I can assure you BB guns are not any part of my plans.
