That is awesome! I need to move and buy a house where that can happen...

When Kat and Russell go out I'M
gonna sneak in and get some salsa.

I have a friend in Bow who has seen a bear in his yard, too. Another friend lives in Candia and she has had the bears come right up to her french doors! It's great to see them at a distance, but I wouldnlt like having them up close like that!!

Why is someone waving a vibrator at Pat's bear?

Man I have seen some one track minds.
But KB is the King. Is there any thing
any thing at all this man will see that
does not call for a sex comment?  ;D

John Edward Mercier

Wildlife in NH can be found in even what we consider Big Cities. But you should always remember its wild.

Bears are waking up and looking for food. So if they find a food source, they're less likely to be scared away. And soon cubs will be in the picture.

I have a 2 acre field just outside my kitchen window where the bear, deer and moose travel through constantly.  NH certainly is a great place for wildlife.  You see a bear?  Shoot it...with a camera of course! :D

You are so lucky!  I've seen a deer and a mink, (sp?), oh yeah and one porcupine and I live all the way back on a long dirt road. ::)   I did see something weird, at least I thought so maybe it's normal, if so tell me please.  I saw 2 crows attacking an eagle up in the sky, they kept chasing him too for a real long time.  Is that normal?

Biologist Geek Alert:

Since eagles are scavengers and incredible predators, I would assume the crows were trying to protect their nest of chicks.  It is very common for eagles to find other bird nests and take their young (easy meal!).  It is also very normal to see the adult birds try to defend their young, including trying to chase the eagle away.

You saw the "fight" defense...

Crows are freakin' smart.

And if you're skeptical about those claims:

Lloyd Danforth

I doubt there are any chicks in any nests in NH this early.
One morning, when I was in my teens, some friends and I went Crow hunting. Before we got off a shot, I ran into a Crow walking around with something wrong with his knee.  I caught him and put him into the car.
As soon as I brought him home, my mother made a pet out of him.  She taught 'Blackie' a few tricks and he would sit on her shoulder when she sat on the front porch, and the two of them would entertain the neighborhood children.
One day something spooked him and he took off. We knew where he was for a couple of days before he disapeared, but, we could not talk him down.
