I am starting a Porc911.  I like having Porc411 for general information.  From my own experience of using Porc411 for emergency purposes, it didnt work as I had hoped, for the purpose of recording an event in progress, its very hard to keep enough activity to keep it from hanging up on you.

I was working on the idea after my last incident, but after listening to Michael on FTL last night, who pointed out the idea of using a live operator, I decided this is the best way to work it.

Since I have plenty of time every day to answer these calls, I decided to vollunteer my time as the first operator and created the website.

I am looking for other people who can take over for me when I am not available, which is rare.

The number will be toll free, I already own a number that I will be using for this project, 866-755-4335.  The site is Porc911.com.

Instead of mailing wav files to everyone, I will be setting up a system where list subscribers will be able to get notification through IM, SMS, and EMAIL.  The audio and information along with any video submitted later will be hosted on the website.

I am open to any ideas anyone has to make this system work best.  I want the calls to be forwarded to a VOIP system, so that anyone who signs on to answer calls, only needs to download the client and login to the operator section of the site.

I would like the site to have valuable information, such as on the spot information, such as a persons rights when being confronted by the police, what options they have for most incidents.

I need input! :)

Awesome idea.  :D  Maybe it could be combined with a phone tree.  The operator calls one person, who then calls a bunch more, and then they call more people.

a real person is good for emergencies

I don't like your number. I like mine much better. :) (1-866-603-0911)

As I said last night, the system is ready to go; it just needs people to provide coverage. The number is live now, but if you call, I'm the only person who gets the call.

I wish you'd spoken to me before you spent your money. If you're really willing to answer calls all day and night, then we'll have the system up and running shortly.

Yes, your number is better, the number I have is an old number I was going to use for another project.  But its not currently activated, so your number would be better.  I added you to my Yahoo, but it shows you offline, we should talk, maybe we can use your number and my website and get this started.

Porc 411 has been changed so as to record indefinitely regardless of silence.

Can it be set for Press 1 if you want me to try to call everyone on the Emergency list and see who answers first, press 2 to leave a 411 notification messsage?
