CONCORD, N.H. -- State and federal law enforcement officers swept through New Hampshire last week, arresting dozens of fugitives, including a man from Costa Rica who was targeted by police around the world.

U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier said the Marshals Service teamed with more than 35 federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies to track down the fugitives.

Among the 54 people arrested was Gerard Latulippe, 65, wanted on an international warrant on fraud charges from Costa Rica. He was arrested last week in Hampton.

Monier said local and county officers were sworn in as special deputy U.S. marshals, empowering them to cross traditional lines of jurisdiction.
