What is the best way to be able to accept plastic from people. I imagine if my business stays on track, I will have to turn that corner in the near future. Is just getting a paypal account that can accept payment online good enough?

Depends. Are you only selling online?

No. I do video, which means I have to be in physical range.

If you have a portable device that can access Paypal and a wifi connection, you can always just let them pay you on your device and log out and then you log in and check it. That might be sufficient depending on how common you expect credit card payment to be.

If you want to be able to accept plastic from people in person, you'll need a traditional merchant account. You can try ProPay or thousands of other places.

Well it doesn't matter really if I can swipe their card or not. I just don't want to run into a situation where someone doesn't have cash or check, or want to hassle with it, and needs a way to pay me. Online payment would work just fine if paypal does it well.

Don't use Pay(not your)pal  ::)

I wish. If you want to use eBay you have to accept PayPal.
