So after filing another stack of paperwork an inch thick, including copies of my pay stubs, tax returns and details of all my financial debts and assets, and paying a couple hundred bucks, and putting on fancy dry-cleanable clothes, and missing work, and holding up my right hand and swearing in a room full of strangers that, yeah, the and I split up years ago, neither of us wants a damned thing from the other, and hey, could I, like, refer to him as my "EX", and stop being legally responsible for his various crimes, debts, welfare collection and general dead-beatiness, some nice lady in a funny black robe said "OK".
