where to buy silver

Yesterday, when silver spot was ~$10.50, I wanted to buy some generic rounds and oblongs (and possibly Eagles and other coins, but I also want 1/2 and 1/4 ounce coins), but I went to a coin store near me and they only sold numismatic stuff.

I'm new to NH. Can anyone recommend where to buy such silver? Soon. :)

Thanks .

What city? I know two places in Manchester.

Does NH mandate all kinds of presumably "post 9/11" paperwork? The typical metals dealer in CA did. Fortunately, I knew a couple of pro liberty guys in the area who wouldn't tax or require paperwork.

Not in NH, but the silver pusher I used to deal with proudly displayed as "This is a financial institution and as such is required to collect personal information in compliance with the Patriot Act."

All they made you do is show ID. You know, the green kind that identifies you as "In God We Trust".

I buy my stuff from NWT Mint. They take a while to ship though b/c they mint it when you order it. And I suspect they are flooded with orders.

Bander, I'm near Manchester, but anywhere in southern NH would be fine with me.

Kevin, it would be good to find such a pusher around here. :)

Puke, thanks for the suggestions. Someone else told me to avoid them for the same reason: slow delivery. But if I'm not in a hurry for delivery (and I trust that it will be delivered), then silver is silver.

and when the prices are low ... you can buy from others on this forum.

Great! Prices are pretty low now. Anyone selling?

I'm also paying attention to ShireSilver.org

I've heard good things about Bob's coins. Even been there once and had decent results.

If this wasn't a non-political forum I'd suggest stopping by there just before Tammy's sign-waving event tomorrow since its so close, but I won't  ;)

hehe. I am not thanking you for not posting political information on a non-political forum. I think.

Delivery pace doesn't bother me. It does show up eventually.
They also lock in the price at time of purchase so nothing changes.

Meh, to each his own.

Here is the previous discussion about NWT, for those who care.

Another good source is Pacific Bullion. Orders are taken via toll free number, and items are only 3% above spot (cheaper over $10k worth, but who's doing that right?). These are the same people that brought you KeepYourAssests.net. The tax and ID situation would be just as it would be if you bought from a porc. NWM can't say that, afaik! Strangely, gold has gone up a lot, but silver is still hanging out at a little over $12/oz. I'd buy some now before the price follows gold again. If you do, tell them Andrew Del Vecchio sent you, and you'll get some special pro liberty pricing.

There is also coin and stamp shop...

Excellent dealer - Respectful and knows his stuff. A little cheaper than Bob's Coins.

I think I've seen that place. Many of you probably already know this, but I recommend a ratio of 4:1 for bullion to numismatics, or something similar. Numismatics typically gain more than bullion in a bull metals market, but are more difficult to sell compared to bullion (at least if you want to get the best price). Therefore, have 25% or so of your stash in numismatics, forming the "core" of your investment. The majority of your stash should be bullion, especially if you prefer to pay/get paid in metals. bullion is of standard weights, is easy to assess, and its lower value means you can divvy it up better.
