It's the end of the world as we know it... and I feel fine.

That describes my situation too, John. I heard about it a little earlier because my roommate was watching it in his room and he came down and gave me one update early on, when he said McCain had a couple more states than Obama, and then he told me when it was all over.

I bet more
and no one is hurt when someone wins .... except for a few injuries to players
in politics they win and we lose

I heard that Obama was president when the police beacons started flashing outside of my window and the cops blocked off the street.

I've still learned so little of any results at all levels - national, state, county, & town - that I'm having a few (very few  ;) ) small - actually tiny - withdrawal symptoms.  ::)  Allmost as if I want to know.

I used to be quite addicted to smoking after having done so for quite a few more years than voting, and I've managed to only take a few puffs of two different things (all on one night) in well over a year.

". . . and I feel fine."

I can't believe the contrast of two years ago, when I was beyond bummed, where the same thing happened, only without a pres change. Now, I honestly don't care, knowing things were gonna suck anyways. Nothing changed really, cheers!

I hear ya!   :-\

I love how NPR keeps pointing out his race. Well, half of his race.
They seem to leave out that he is half white.  :-\

Anyway, politics sucks and we are fucked as usual.

Ha, I couldn't have said it better myself!  I don't think we are totally fucked at least not yet though.  We still have our guns and each other!  :D

Wow, why did they do that?

QuoteWow, why did they do that?

Because the neighbor to one side of my apartment building began yelling "Obama!", started dancing in the street and screaming in the parking lot of the liquor store on the corner, gathering a small following of drunks who joined in. After about 10 minutes of this loud screeching, some other neighbors from the other side walked down to the screaming neighbor's place, told them to "Shut your fu--ing black mouth". This triggered about 10 people to begin a little mob of assaults that were timed perfectly with the arrival of two squad cars that came to investigate the disturbance at the liquor store.

Sounds to me like one asshole inspired a group of assholes which disturbed a second asshole and another group of assholes. Solution? Someone called a third asshole to send his group of assholes to "HELP."

Always remember, whenever anything is less than completely blissful in your life to call 911. They'll know how to "HELP." 911 (often) = jail for someone; maybe even you.

On a somewhat different note: I JUST GOT WORD from my (former) boss that 30+ years of service is over.  ::)
...and I feel fine.

Another "blessing" in disguise!

Holy smokes! I knew your company was having a shut down,
but I thought you would be going back.

Hey John,
Heard you call in to FTL last night. Great call! I do feel a lot of this is a blessing in disguise. I remember when the bank office I worked at decided to close down and move to South Carolina. It reminded me that I took that job only to get back on my feet until I could get back in school. It pushed me out of the nest and I finished school quickly. All of America may be getting pushed out of nests right now.

Now if we can just get someone to push PatK out of the nest...

Friday

Good luck to you, John Baez   :icon_guitarist:
