This Wednesday Thursday evening from 7-9, people can visit Sam at the "Cheshire County Complex"  for a half-hour.
Or on Sunday Saturday Sunday afternoon morning from 10-11 for an hour.
Of course there are a few requirements* of the jailers:

  • you have ask permission to enter
  • you have to have a state-issued ID
  • you have to let them copy all the info on the ID to their log book
  • you have to let jailers keep your ID while you are visiting Sam
  • you have to leave behind your camera
  • you cant bring out your cell phone
  • you can't actually see Sam under normal conditions
  • you must talk to Sam through a phone
  • the phone is subject to recording by the jailers
  • anyhthing you talk about will be considered conspiracy
  • you can't actally see Sam clearly as he is kept behind a clear wall
  • you can't bring Sam anything, even though he is starving for food and information.
  • you will be locked behind two doors that you can't open.
* all requirements are changable according to the moods of the jailers.

Thanks for posting this info. Do any of you have plans to go tonight?

Sam A. Robrin

Plans, yes--transportation pending.

I'm going. I can take 3 others comfortably (though some question that) or 4 snugly with one on the hump.

Dale, the one on the hump comment just strikes me as wrong...  :P

samiam has been in jail for a while ... he will have a whole load of new gay jokes for you when he gets out

Sam A. Robrin

I know someone else who's going, with room for seven.  Contact me.

I'd love to carpool so we can take fewer cars. I'm willing to be one of the drivers if the space is needed, of course.

There was a good turnout last night of visitors for one John Sam Doe currently being held captive.

It's important we don't forget those who make sacrifices to bring the loss of our liberties to a broader public view.

I can not believe MSM/Corproate media has not reported this. It only proves how "journalism' has sold out the freedom of this republik.

IMO, Sam (and others who make a choice to sit in jail) are more powerful on the outside of jail than being penned up. I hope no one takes my statement wrongfully but it is just my heart felt opinion that activists can be much more productive staying out of jailcells. This is the thugs game and they are good and efficient at it. Silencing guys like Sam is pleasing to them.

The PIGS do not care about Sam and he will soon be another forgotten folder in a big gray file cabinet.

I have found it to be the exact opposite
they are effected by Sam and others
but they do think that jailing us is the solution ... they kinda suck that way

dalebert

There's probably a higher return on investment, so to speak, from the initial arrest and the initial time in jail in terms of getting a buzz going. There's no doubt that the statists end up helping us recruit when they jail us and they still don't get it. I think perhaps the return on investment drops over time after someone has been in a while. It's just really difficult for everyone on the outside to continually keep the energy level up.

Maybe you're right littlehawk.  Maybe being in jail silences the activist.  Perhaps you can show us how staying out of jail has you've gotten you wide-spread attention. There must be movies and TV shows and tomes of writing inspired by your ideas.  If your strategy is better you should be able to point out the evidence with little effort.   In my experience an activist's voice amplifies when they speak from jail because everyone wants to know why they are taking such a extreme step. And when they get out of jail they are more vocal than previously because now they have first hand experience with tyranny.

Visiting hours are from 7-9, but by our watches it was a quarter to eight before we got to see him.  In fairness, though, he was on the phone with FTL until that point.
Yes, you have to jump through a whole bunch of ridiculous hoops...but in my opinion it's worth it to provide Sam with the encouragement.  He really looked buoyed by the sight of all who turned out.  And I know it was a serious blow to his morale on Saturday when he didn't get any visitors.
An observation in irony: you have to turn over all your information to get into the prison -- if only Sam had walked in the front door and refused to provide them with his legal name, etc., they would have denied him entry.
Another observation: they don't frisk for weapons or make you empty your pockets, pass a metal detector and so on.  Granted there's no way you could ever pass anything to a prisoner or attack a guard as they are all behind thick glass...but still.  I could have theoretically walked in loaded for bear and they would have been none the wiser.

You make valid points Ms. Canario. My apologies if my opinionated statement was disrespectful (and incorrect) in regards to the sacrifices you (and others) have made by electing to sit in jail. Your views are enlightening. Thanks.
