any suggestions on a cheap motel that will

1) not demand id upon check in
2) has wifi.

other than that it could be the roach motel for all i care. (i have slept in worse)

upon arrival in Keene, how do i make contact with freestaters??

Kat Kanning

There are no cheap motels in keene.  I don't know about your other requirements.  There is a cheap motel in Brattleboro.

The Keene super8 seems OK. It has wifi. Does anybody know if they require ID? Im thinking of coming Wednesday or Thursday

bile

Last I was at the Super 8 in Keene they asked for ID.

The Valley Green is the local no-tell motel, from the looks of it.  Not sure what their rates are.  Let me know if you find out.  Don't know about wifi there.

Feedback from a couple years ago was that it was a rat trap and not inexpensive.

it might be easier to rent a place for a month that get a motel room for a weekend

I stayed their for a night in the process moving to Manchester.  It was kind of pricey ($90+ a night) for what they offered and it wasn't the cleanest of places. I am sure if you check around you could find a couch to crash on for a couple of days. Heck I stayed at the Motel 6 in Toledo, OH 2 nights before and that was about a 1/3 the price and cleaner.

which month?

There is also the Coach House motel, about 250 a week.  No wifi.  Reasonably clean though.  Their office also has/did have free local maps of keene and surrounding areas.

wolf

got this back from the Coach House

Looks good. The price is right and they have wifi so i can stay connected. Cool. I Didn't ask them about an ID requirement

No phone in the room, but yes wifi? Odd. Anyway, you could use VOIP to make calls from the room. Or you might have a cell phone.

I have an asterisk switch at home and xlite SIP soft phone configured as an off site extension installed on my notebook

I've stayed in lots of motel rooms, but I don't think I've made a phone call from one since the '80s.

It's easy to plug in one wireless router, compared to hard-wiring multiple rooms for POTS.
