What should I do about a press pass? (hope this is the right section)

I have come to notice in most of the videos related to NHunderground or the FSP reporters tend to always have some sort of press pass. What sorts of passes are you using, what constitutes a press pass? What sort of "official" standing does a press pass need?

I am looking for something to blind away incriminaters when the ever so famous "do you have a press pass" occurs?

We print our own.  Walmart has little self laminating pockets.

Thank you very much! From my understanding there are no laws covering "fake press" considering anything or anyone could be seen as a source of information. But I am just not sure, I have been searching but am curious are there any companies out there that take the dive and hand out press passes?

I have seen many events make a mockery of youtube press passes, so obviously my youtube channel would not be a great idea to slap on my press pass. I am just sort of at a loss, however I find this website interesting. http://binghamtonpmc.org/bhuston/presspass/

I guess I just need to develop my own "news reporting" deal-e-o and print up a few press passes.

Thanks

Press passes are issued by the Department of Safety, ie, the State Police. You can get more info by calling their office in Concord.

well thanks for the feedback anyway guys. I now know I need to look into how my state runs things. I wasnt sure if press passes were issued by state gov or not, and what the requirements are.

Thanks for the info.

Wow, good to know. I was wondering how they handled the new media and that release explains it. I thought they were clearing people through an investigative process, eg, to determine who was safe to let up close and personal to candidates, etc.

Ogre

I have two or three that I've made myself, all hanging at the same time. One even has a picture of an Ogre on it, with a bar code and other fancy-looking stuff. Wearing a camera bag and three press passes at the same time gets me in anywhere I've tried. Sometimes the press gallery has a nice view of events. :)
