FREEDOM, N.H. The owner of an exotic mushroom farm in Freedom (New Hampshire) has been charged with growing drugs.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Department says Chris McGarvey, owner of the White Mountain Mushroom Company, and a woman they did not identify, were charged with manufacture of a controlled drug.

The company grows and imports species of wild and farmed fungus that are sought after by chefs in exclusive restaurants.

Sheriff's Captain Jon Hebert said 25 officers have been searching the hilly, forested farm this week. He didn't say what drugs were involved.

I say we should ban the growing of cows. They surely kill more people a year than all drugs combined. Damn hamburger induced heart attacks!

Not to mention all of the farting they do raising greenhouse gases.

Reminds me of Ron White's response to his vegetarian friend, who was lamenting how cattle farming was destroying the planet. The friend wanted to know what Ron was doing to save the environment.

"I'm eating the cows."
