Amazing!  The design makes sense. Whatever it is that senses where it is and reacts to keep it where it should be. or, get it back must be something! I jumped thru some of it. Did he do a wind test?

GPS is used for location. "Home" is where the motors were started.

As to wind, his pushing of it during the GPS test may give a little clue to that. Gusts may blow it off course but GPS waypoints should bring it back on course. The only problem with using it to find a location would be obstacle avoidance on the way. But then that is accomplished here and here

Also, look at the machine's reaction with the swinging coke bottle under it.

Amazing little machine.

I did particularly, notice that. Delicate little thing. Probably only get one accident with it.

Germany has had a pretty involved R/C hobby community for a few decades now. Given their statist bent, I'm actually surprised that they combined their R/C experience with an open source model for these helicopters.

The expense is the only thing keeping these drones out of the hands of liberty activists with Qik accounts.
