1992 shortly after the central government imploded, US Marines stormed ashore to help feed starving Somalis...  because that's what the military is for... feeding people... they're like a mobile cocina... roach coach...  See Movie: Black Hawk Down

2006, when an Islamist alliance was poised to sweep the country, the C.I.A.  teamed up with warlords to stop them, and when that backfired, the American military covertly supported an Ethiopian invasion.

2010 US backs a fast food asst. manager, as part the jobs stimulus package, in an effort to violently establish a US style government in Somalia.

It can be said, that the United States Military recruits it's people from the ranks of the largest and most successful corporations in the world.    :D

Reading the article, the guy was apparently part of the Somalian state military before joining McDonalds in Germany.

It's nice that he got some practical real people experience before he sends the young men to die.

I got to give him that.  They didn't let just any schmuck be a colonel in the Somalian state military.  His family had to be politically well connected and wealthy enough to bribe him into that position.

It can be said, that he is not personally qualified to be leader of 6000 men.  In the 20 intervening years he only rose far enough to lead 5 or 6 people under immediate supervision.  That means at best he is qualified to be a corporal.
But the United States is giving him tanks and a bunch of ambulances.

What's going to happen:  A completely botched military adventure that will give the US "reason" to send in ground troops.  The US troops will be there to "establish democracy" and "fight terrorism".

Thousands of people will die and it will be all "honorable and just".
And United States will have a major military base to wage war on Africa.

Experience in making hamburger?

Yes, I can imagine him, in the back of the restaurant, pretending that he's a general while shoving hunks of meat into a grinder.

We will then support the UN  in forcing Somaliland and Puntland back under Somalian rule. hen we take care of the pirates.

Same thing he'll be doing in the near future, minus a restaurant.
