Anyone want to learn how to replace a well pump?

My well pump died.  I will be obtaining a replacement tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday, hopefully.

I could use a hand pulling the old pump out of the well and getting the new one in.  We don't have perfect records, but the previous owners claim that it's a 450-foot well, in which case there's likely more than 400 feet of poly pipe that will need to be pulled out in a safe and sane manner.  It's just cumbersome to deal with pipes that long, so a few hands will help.

(they also may be completely wrong, and the pump could only be a hundred feet down, which would make it much easier, but still cumbersome)

I used to do plumbing professionally, so if some folks are willing to help, I'll be happy to explain how it's done, in case you ever need to do your own, or help a friend/neighbor.  It's actually a fairly simple procedure, but most folks don't realize that, so they think that they have no choice but to pay a well company an arm and a leg to do it.

I'll post an exact time once I actually have a replacement pump tracked-down.  That will have to wait for morning, since my pump chose to wait to give up the ghost until just after the end of business today, of course.
