Loan Request Reputation Checks

Until and unless we get a reputation database system going, it would be useful to have a way to check with the community to see if someone asking for a loan is credit worthy.

While most people in the community (porcs, residents of the Shire, free staters, etc) are and have been good on their word, there have been a few exceptions. Having some way to alert potential creditors of those few cases could prove very handy, so J'raxis and I talked about it a bit and came up with this idea.

This thread (or it could become a sub-forum if that works better) exists to post simple requests for info like:
Quote from: Some guy with money
This guy, Ron Helwig, asked me to loan him a few hundred, with payback in a few months. I'd like to know how risky this is.
And those who have information that they feel is relevant could PM the poster back with their story. We think a reply in the thread should only be reserved for the most egregious of offenders, like Ryan Marvin who stole from his roommates. Here's a sample PM:
Quote from: Some guy who used to have money
I loaned that bastard Ron Helwig a $50 and he never repaid.
or another
Quote from: Happy loaner
I loaned a serious amount of money to Mr. Helwig and he repaid everything on time.

So, how I figure this should work is that those who have been creditors follow this thread (you should be able to use the Notify button). Potential creditors post a simple request when someone asks them for a loan. Former creditors (and others who have relevant information) reply to the poster via PM.  Poster uses the info, or not, as they see fit. That's it.

If you think this is a good idea, please follow this thread, and post as appropriate.

I hope to never be on either side of the equation, but I think it's a good idea.
