Is anyone going to Portland, OR for the 2006 Libertarian Party National Convention?

It is from June 30th to July 3rd.  I plan on being there (nothing is for sure with me).

I'm sad because I have to miss the Shorty Dawkins Jamboree, Roger's campground from to June 19th-24th.  I have Army drill from June 10th to June 23rd  :(

I'll hop a plane on June 24th- Sat. morning and fly to Manchester, get in my rental, and check out the end of SD's Jamboree and part of the 2006 Porcupine Freedom Festival.  I'll be in NH from the 24th to the 29th, when I'll fly to Portland, OR.  Cuz, you know, it's from the 30th to the 3rd of July.

Well, maybe I will not be elected as a delegate or alternate delegate and will not get to go to Portland. I am not sure if that is good or bad, but it will be a great excuse to spend more time in NH.  Any excuse to be in NH is a good excuse.

Anyway, several FSP members went to the 2004 Convention in Atlanta.  If I recall correctly, there was even a table.  I know we are gonna have a table at Portland.  So, who is going to work it?  I?d love to see some of you cool people in NH and then see you it Portland.

Sounds like it is time to quit the army.

9 months and counting till I no longer have to go to drill :)

Caleb

What would happen if you just went in and said, "Yeah, this war is immoral, so I don't want to be associated with you guys.  I quit."  And then walked out?

Caleb

SWilliams

he'd be shot on sight as a deserter  ;D

just because you think the war is immoral doesn't mean everyone else does...

Nothing, most likely would happen if I just quite going to drill for the last 5 months of my last nine months.  I was told that you have to be missing for 6 months in order to get in trouble.

However, these things change pretty often as the government is very bad at organization.  Also, I have no plans of not going to drill.  I think the war is unconstitutional but not any more immoral than any other war in history.

Is this war as moral as the American Revolution? If so, which side are you on ....the empire or the colony?

Brian,  What organization are you 'drilling' in?  ROTC, State Guard?

Maybe FTL, if the National LP comes to their damn senses and figures out that we're an asset.

Maybe I will go if the National LP pays me, too.

There was no American Revolution.
It was a war for independence, not a revolution.

Do you believe that the Amercican war for independence was moral?

That does seem like a better way to classify it.  However, I think the real question on people?s minds is- How the F did you get a positive karma rating?
