Today turned out to be the day, folks.  This morning I asked for and received permission to be released from my contract with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (won't miss spitting that one out) as of December 31, so ROCKETMAN IS NOT ONLY BLASTING OFF FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE -- HE'S LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LAND!

I don't remember ever feeling this... free.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, rub it in, ya bastid!  :'( >:( :'(

Congratulations. I can only imagine the feeling. But I'll be gloating about the move before too many months pass, hopefully!  :)

Do you teach at University?  There are a number of fine colleges in NH.

I love it ..... and I don't even drink beer. ;D

Well we will have to think of the safest landing. We don't have a landing area flat enough for the shuttle .... you will have to splash down in Hampton Beach and have dawg or otis come fish you out.

This is great news!!!  :)

Hopefully he gets a teaching job that has a lot of out of state students or just over the border and he works (without getting fired) at recruiting his students to move to NH for freedom.

Y'all,

I am done with teaching, at least with teaching as I have known it. ?I will be able to support myself at first doing some work over the internet, so it doesn't matter much where I live at first (read: CHEAPEST AND MOST DESIRABLE DOG-FRIENDLY OPTION WITH HIGH-SPEED INTERNET). ?The brewpub dream is alive and well, and I have lots of other half-formed ideas I'd like to explore.

As for the visit, I'll be arriving in NH on the 12th (most likely). ?Sid can't make it, so I'm on my own -- the upside of that is I'll be able to stay longer, check out more towns, and explore more options. ?I've had a few generous offers of floors to crash on (thanksabunch), but I've made no firm plans yet. ?I'll crash on a different floor every night if that's how it works out. ? ;D

I'm still very busy with end-of-semester grading, which I'll finish by Friday, but yeah, I ought to decide on a tentative schedule... input is welcome.
