Looking for dogsitter for a few weeks (urgent timeframe)

To try to condense a long story, my ex is not responsible enough to take care of our dog and will probably be trying to adopt her out at the end of the month. I had located a suitable house which I intended to rent but now I can't reach the owner and I fear it may have been rented. I'm wondering if there are any Porcs near to the Nashua area who would be able to care for a dog for a few weeks while I get my housing situation straightened out. I would be willing to pay for this service.

My dog is Nadia, Porc Fest icon (at least I like to think  :) ). She's a four year old Siberian Husky. Very easy-going and gets along well with other dogs. No special requirements except that she must always be leashed.

If anyone can help, please notify me ASAP so I can make plans. Thanks, Porcupines.

dude--is a kennel an  option?

I have 2 sheps, so my space is at a premium as is--but I have a lot of dog loving/owning friends and a hook-up at a top-flight kennel

I'll help if I can--pooches are oftimes better than people...

Aww, I love that dog.  I wish I could take her.  The park owners would probably have  a cow though.

Is your dog good with kids?

Is so I might be an option.  We have a big backyard.  We have two kids that love dogs.  I have one wife who needs to be convinced. ;D

Heidi and Nadia met at PorcFest, and they got along well.

The only catch is we may be leaving for Russia for our adoption at the very end of January, depending on how the Russian court decides, and we'll need our own dogsitter.  Would that be enough time?  The only other catch is we have a cat too.  Call us, 603-424-6916.  We're in Merrimack.

I have to go to Ohio for the holidays, but afterwards I will be agressively searching for a rental house (and BTW, Merrimack is my ideal location). I'd be happy to return the dogwatching favor once I find something. I'll give you a call in a few days after I've refined the details.

Oh, and Nadia is OK with cats... she used to live with two of them.

You should sign on and post at http://www.merrimackforum.org/ - there's a section in there where you could post your interest in rental.

We had a heck of a time finding a rental in the area when we first moved - most places don't accept dogs over 40 pounds, if they accept dogs at all.  We wound up on a month-to-month short-term lease at Heritage on the Merrimack in Bedford, paying through the nose.

The management always got very huffy about dog leavings and leash rules, but we figured for the number of tenants they had with dogs at $200 a month or more, they could afford to hire someone full time to do the scooping.

Nadia and Heidi are getting along famously, I'm pleased to report to everyone who read this thread and might be wondering.  Got a number of nice photos I'll post later on.

Got the images resized and uploaded...

I thought he said you had to have a leash at all times? ;)

Our back yard is fenced with that green vinyl-coated steel square mesh fencing.  Nice thing about it is that it's so inconspicuous.

She did manage to slip out the front door one afteroon and took off running down the street, then doubled back through the neighbor's back yard woods and came up from behind Heidi and I, like "what are you guys doing all the way down here?"

Nice Dog's . I love dogs even more then I hate Snow.
I do Dog sitting when I can, don't have my own Dog because I am not home alot and it would not be fair to the Dog.

I lost my real fun Dog sitting job when the 4 Pugs and one big 130 pound
Half Pit Bull Half Rottie moved to Florida. I miss those guys and gals.
