John Fries Rebellion
Part 1: The House Tax Rebellion . 1798-1799
http://www.jamesmannartfarm.com/friesreb1.html

"It was known as the "Hot-Water Tax", because housewives poured hot water on the assessors from their second story windows to discourage them while they were counting and measuring."

"These men returned to their homes. Some were regarded as heroes. They had had the courage to stand up to what was then considered an oppressive tax."

The website has not been updated since May 2003.

Strategies of the site (IMO):
1. Alert readers that the gov't may be a dangerous entity which greatly reduces one's ability to maximize lifetime happiness.
Yea! for the red alert.  Hopefully this will encourage viewers of the site to do research and think about gov't, among other things.
2. File suits against the gov't.
Is this strategy worth the time?  May be a good way to make headlines that some are upset.  However, in the long run, appears to be a waste of stolen tax dollars.
3.  Encourage people to make fraudulent Fed Income returns.
Is this strategy worth the pain?  -Re: Carolyn Worsley- The IRS sets up the rules within the 1040 return game.  Carolyn agrees to file 1040 (agrees to the rules of the game), but does not follow the rules.  Following the rules, the IRS hires police/judicial system to apprehend Worsley until she follows the rules of the game that she volunteered to play.
4.  To win "black reparations".  Not sure what the amount of dark biological pigment in a human's skin has to do with suing the government for past wrongs to non-you entities.  Those who should have been restituted and those who owe restitution -- both dead.

Strategy: Easy to get stuck here.  Is it a good strategy to encourage one to take part in an (in)action regardless of his/her (hir) reasoning?  I suppose this question deserves more thought, since there are many sub-questions to follow.

Quik scenerio...
If Carolyn W. (above) does not pay taxes, awesome.  But if she is then arrested, forced to pay or die in jail, then not awesome.  However, if 100,000 Carolyns confronted the gov't in this manner, would something positive blossom?
How could a) we determine the minimum needed?, b) organize these individuals (timing is sometimes very very important), c) etc.

Bye for now.  Onto your next listed site.

Yeah, but....this article and the ideas behind it are disgusting.  Is it to laugh at?

Ok, I tried laughing at it, but still find the desire to enforce taxation on others nauseating.

Yet, she and the others most likely think property taxes are both necessary and good as they provide money which empowers the city to complete tasks that residents are demanding be completed by the government.

Those who cannot afford the tax hikes will close shop or move out of town.  Since the town of Auburn is hot stuff right now, those who can afford the taxes will move right in without blinking an eye.
I say to Deana Chapman:
"Besides, majority rules lady...hope you can muster up 51% of the vote to force your views on the other 49%..."
