We should be there with a couple of dry erase boards and markers.

Good to hear all of you are going to make it....now we aren't coming :( ....Kat is not feeling that good, so we are at home resting up. :-\

I won't be there but did contact about 20 people, some of whom will be there and others spread the word.   Keith Murhy I believe will be there.

I got on the air at WGIR (Central NH + South + Seacost) and plugged this event at 5:15 today, told folks to head to the 7PM location.

There was a pretty good turnout protesting in front of the Town Hall.  We had some nice signs supplied by the Burbank Family. Myrtle was there! Gardner? from the radio show was there, but, got  a call and had to leave. John Connel and I talked to him for about 15 minutes.  Some new people showed up who had heard about it on the radio. After the zoning meeting began, the signs were put away and many of the protesters went to watch. John stayed out on the road with his flag and sign.  I spent some time with him and left.  I don't know how the hearing came out, but, I'm sure someone will post the results.

I thought it was important that at least one of us stay outside holding vigil while events were unfolding inside, to continue pointing out to passers-by that something very wrong was happening inside this building (again) tonight . . . We had one SUPPORTER stop by who's family has been part of Hampton since (when was it Llyod?) the 1630s.  He woundered what this country would look like if his familiy (and others) had desided that "zoning" was a good idea way back when . . .

. . . I'll reserve comment on how I think it is going but, we must not let this go . . . UNFORTUNATLY, I CAN NOT BE THERE NEXT WEEK.  Someone, PLEASE hold my spot!

FYI, I a flag waving in the breeze is real easy for people (in their cars) to spot from far up (and down) the street as they aproach this not-very-well-lit area, particularly when held right under the street light across the road.  Some folks began to slow down and check out what was happening from as far away as 75 - 100 yards.
I got MUCH more responce from passers-by (while standing there) than in any other spot around Hampton Town Hall.

When my thumb (and to a lesser extent, my toes) had very little feeling left, I went inside and sat in the very back where I was able to observe the whole room . . . IMHO the inspector is feeling like this is somthing that he can not compromise (at all) on . . .
When Dave M. spoke, he made the point that much of this is subjective . . . I think the chairman gets that point and was trying to find a way out of some of this . . . (Some, but TLTL?)

Oh BTW, the inspector (or his lawer) said that they did not want to see anyone get hurt.  (?)
WELL, what the hell do they call this?   :'(

They stood behind their inspector on every item but the laundry room. Their finding was that permanent fixtures and plumbing aren't necessary to be a living dwelling. Their photos showed enough furniture and plug in appliances (even without a kitchen sink) to be lived in. So Barbara and Myrtle lost. The second issue about safety was delayed until next week after the inspectors office have sent someone over again.

Well we have to make sure that the ladies are safe....and if they aren't we are going to punish them ($180,000) >:D

Does anyone know where the zoning ordinances can be found to read? About the plumbing not being needed....that just doesn't sound right to me. You wouldn't be able to legally rent any kind of apartment without plumbing......I don't see how they can draw that conclusion. You can live anywhere anywhere technically but these people also have very concise definitions of what exactly constitutes a dwelling....

Anyway, great to see you all last night!! Thankfully, it wasn't too cold. I'll most likely be able to attend and stay for the meeting next week. The sheer brute force of these people's ignorance lies in their numbers and their reinforcing each other that what they are doing, they thing is right. Fortunatly for us, what they don't know is that they may be able to push people around but it takes far fewer of us to push back and our ground is far, far more stable. They seem to generally collapse on their own eventually due to the sheer weight of their stupidity!!!

So even though some of us couldn't make it, we still had a good turnout? 8)

Did anyone get a head count of supporters?  It was 18 of us last time, though only 14 stood out there with signs.   Also which media were present?

And...what happens next?   What should we do next?

I'm uncertain of the total number, do know we had at least 6 plus me from
the Seacoast, including Suzanne, Jenn, Tim, and Mike making their first visit. :D
Can't count Lloyd any more he moved. :'(...Anyway thanks much guys! :)

It's back to the ZBA meeting next Thursday for a decision on occupancy of the
addition, also we have two other matters on the agenda, one is a request to split
the property I believe.

The occupancy issue will be first on the agenda, uncertain of the other issues.
