A lot of you probably know this already but just in case I thought I'd post it just in case you didn't know and wanted to do this.  :)

I was reading the Davidicke.com forum earlier and read this post: http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263017

It possible, because I know someone who has done just that.....Its easy...

Firstly find your house picture on google maps. ie with the orange bloke you plonk on the road...

Then go to the bottom of the page(right hand side) where it says "report a problem" ..and click that.

A street view of your house should come up, with a red box round it....

Then just click one of the appropriate boxes, such as "My Home"- its a request for blurring....you can do you car and a few other things if you look at the list...

Then just put a contact email address in and that's basically it....

They don't tell you, that you have an option not to be on, do they....I came across this tip a few weeks ago and have told a few mates.....All have had their houses blurred out - it takes a week or so....and none of them have been contacted by email, it was just done and dusted for them...

I just tried it and it only allowed me to move the marker so I don't know if it will go as well as the poster on the DI forum said it would.

If you do try it please let me know if it worked for you.  :)

Hiding it on Google Maps only hides the image from people using Google Maps.

The government and others have the raw images, in even greater detail.

I know but it made me feel like I had a little privacy for a few minutes.  ;D  When you say raw images in greater detail, do you mean they can see into our houses and stuff like that?

No, just higher resolution.
