PORTSMOUTH -- Four people were arrested Friday during a 'sobriety checkpoint' conducted by New Hampshire State Police, Troop A, on the Spaulding Turnpike.

Troopers stopped 401 vehicles to screen drivers.

Arrested for DWI were Nicholas Hogan, 25, of Rochester, Thomas Obrey, 46, of Barrington, and Tracey Carignan, 45, of Farmington.

Ethan Chierepko, 29, of Dover was charged with possession of a controlled drug and transportation of alcohol by a minor.

All are to appear Aug. 22 in 10 Circuit Court - District Division - Portsmouth.

Thank goodness. Imagine the chaos and traffic delays that would have been created if those four had gotten in accidents.

Run that by me again.  A 29 year old man was charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor?  How is that possible, since he is not a minor?
