Thank you all, for the replies to my question, some were quite funny, I atleast have gathered thru your replies, that there is infact a state required inspection, now I guess I'll have to call the NH DMV tomorrow, to see how often I have to do this, I'm just trying to cover as many possible concerns as I can, by asking the questions here, Paul.

There is an annual inspection. The first is due within 10 days of registering your vehicle in NH. Then each year in the vehicle owner's birth month - and you have until the 10th of the following month to get it done.

If your first inspection is within 4 months of your birth month you will egt until the following year.

Inspections are done at private garages - you can pick the one you want. Repairs required to pass inspection do not have to be done at that garage - again you can pick which garage to go to - reinspection, though, must be done at the original inspection garage.

Vehicles 1996 and later must also go through an OBD II test for emissions. I do not think they are yet failing people on this test, though.

Hope this clears up some of the joking/arguing/off topic stuff here.

Your on target there.

People should want to be more responsible when it comes to auto safety.  All of those that don't want any kind of safety regulations are talking crap.  That's all we need...a bunch of stupid hicks driving pickup trucks and drinking 6 packs.  Please, stay the hell in the South.  We don't need anymore yeehahs on the road. :protest:

It goes more then that. Like the careless yuppies that cut people off in there Volvos and Saabs and other foreign junk that cut people off and can't use there turn signals. Speeding and putting other at risk.

I'll have you know that I own foreign junk and I will continue to do so. They make their junk so much better than we do. ;D

I've been there. It's worse there than here - oh, wait a minute, they are a socialist/unionist run country, you'd fit right in. ;D

I don't have any anti-american friends.

Of course you do. Don't your party want to avoid paying taxes and stuff like that? And drive Forigen junk. Of course it is anti-American to do those thing. Shit it does not take a rocket scientiest to figure that one out.

What party? I'm not a member of any party. I don't want to "avoid" paying any taxes, I want the government small enough that I don't have to work like a slave. I would gladly pay fees for services rendered.

Government does not belong in fire suppression - my insurance company should subscribe to a service.
Government does not belong in education - parents should be able to afford providing for children, not forcing others to pay for their rearing.
Government does not belong in licensing - certifying organizations, in association with my insurance company, can do a much better job.
Government does not belong in health care - again, my insurance company should offer me an array of choices here. If employers want to offer this, go for it, but I also want insurance companies to offer individual policies at competitive rates.
etc
etc

Driving the foreign junk I do is called recycling. I don't buy brand-new. And because of the current rise in fuel prices I will reverse my decision to put off converting my foreign junk heap to burn vegetable oil and do it before Porc Fest. (Hey, prez! You going to be there?)

Nope, sure isn't rocket science. ;D

Dreepa

Gee Pat... it just makes so much sense when you put it like that.

Of course people won't get it but....  ::)

I think we should do brake inspections every 2.5 months but only do smog inspections every year.
I disgree with the smog inspections. That they have because a car could fail without any problems at all.

Now brakes and rust, steering and other safety issues do need to be addressed.
I have to stand by my smog inspection idea. We have to save the environment for us ...... and our children.

What represents being "responsible"? Does it mean a little sticker in the window?
I want to live where there are no safety regulations.
I must be a "hick". 6 packs are for city slickers ..... I like to have a 24 pack in the passenger seat when I run around in my rust bucket.
I haven't lived in the South, but I will keep your words in mind .... Mr. Friendly NH resident.
I like to have a 1:1 ratio of "Responsible Adults" and Yahoooooos on the road.
