Press release/LTE re: our new website!  ;D

New Website about Winchester

Recognizing the fact that it is virtually impossible for any one person to keep informed about town government activities, the idea for this website was born. The meetings are numerous and we all lead busy lives, making it difficult to participate in person or even to get to town hall during business hours to ask for copies of meeting minutes.

This website is a central location where interested people like yourself can find out when town boards and committees are meeting and what occurred at these meetings while you were busy with other things. In the privacy of your own home, at your own convenience, you can now become more easily informed of the important things that are happening that will have a lasting impact on your life (what the town says you are and are not allowed to do) and how your tax dollars are being spent.

This is a purely volunteer effort brought to you by Webmasters Dawn Lincoln and Sue Newell and other dedicated volunteers who prefer to remain anonymous.

Please note that this website is not an official website of the Town of Winchester and is in no way affiliated with the Town of Winchester in any official or unofficial capacity.

Please visit www.winchester-informed-citizen.org.

Cool, Dawn!  I'll put it in the next issue of the KFP.

This web site is dynamite!

Reciepts from selling timber cut from city land, all in glorious detail.

BRILLIANT!!! We need websites like these in other towns.  It would be cool if every NH town had a site like that that was run by dedicated activists who will keep an eye on govt activities.

Actually, we've quietly moved in about 75 freestaters to Winchester alone.  Shhh, don't tell anyone.

We (actually Jane) has started a similar site for Windham.

Dawn- I'd like to get your tips sometime on getting started. Thanks

Dawn here's a suggestion:

Put a link on your website called "discussion forum" and connect it to

http://forum.soulawakenings.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=dfbcada7b579aa4b5b4ac7c17ad7671c&topic=3664.0

which is this thread

A website that has a discussion forum of some kind usually does a lot better than one where people can't get together and discuss.

Is it true that Dawn is on the front page of the Star Spangled Banner this week?
