I've written up a critique of a civil disobedience action that took place recently in San Francisco that might be of interest to some of you:

The critique talks a bit about the logistics behind a coordinated sit-in/blockade style action and how such a thing is planned and conducted in San Francisco granola-left circles.  The SF granola-left has been doing this sort of thing for a while and has learned some useful techniques ? things like choosing police liaisons & legal observers ahead of time, techniques for reaching consensus decisions on-the-fly, etc. ? but in my opinion, this particular action shows that there's still a lot to learn about the theory and practice of effective civil disobedience.
