Little Alan M has lost his buttons
And he began to cry
Oh, Kat dear,
I sadly fear
My buttons I have lost.
What! Lost your buttons?,
You naughty poster!!
Then you shall have no pie.
Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.
You shall have no pie.

Am I the only person on the planet who had never heard this Nursery thing?? Karl told me this whole thing a week or two ago, and I thouht it was just some wierd thing he knew, but I guess it's fairly common.? And me being the cat girl that I am, didn't know it.? How odd.

Nope, never heard it before.. When I was young, my mother would recite 'Barnicle Bill, the Sailor' ?and, 'The Face On The Barroom Floor'

AlanM

The money's for the beer.

That line wasn't in the poem my mother used to recite.  As a matter of fact, I just googled it, and, read it.  I can't believe mom memorised the whole thing, but, she was good with poems.  She would really emphisize the last line of that one.

AlanM

I just read it Lloyd. Good one. Makes one pause, and ponder.
My father used to recite "Hiawatha"
By the shores of Gitcheegoomee,
By the shining deep sea waters,..............

Kat Kanning
