Thanks for the heads up. I think I can get some time off work, maybe.

If you're a privacy advocate, or a very private individual, a gun show is a good place to legally trade guns and buy firearms with no background check and without leaving a paper trail.

I feel obligated to post this disclaimer to Mike's post:

There is no such thing as a "gunshow loophole". All the same rules apply at a gun show that apply everywhere else. FFL Dealers must do the same paperwork and NICS check at gunshows, that they do at their stores. Private sellers have the same RSA 159 obligation at gunshows as they do at flea markets, yard sales, or by taking out an ad in the newspaper (buyers must be "personally known to the seller", or "licensed under this chapter").

I know that Mike knows this, but I'm just pointing it out for those who have been misled by the mainstream news and anti-gun politicians into believing that the rules really are different at gun shows. They aren't.

But he is right that gun shows are a great place for buyers and sellers to come together to do business.

Maybe he means that people don't check near as often, or are more lax at gunshows?

Dealers are every bit as stringent at shows as they are in their storefront. They really have no choice about it.

As for people checking, I'd be surprised if there were fewer cheks at a gun show.

I mean trading between individuals, not purchasing from a dealer at a gun show. You can meet people, get to know them, and trade between each other legally.

Do you want to put an ad in the paper asking for a shotgun? Or would you rather just buy one from an individual that you met at a gunshow?

Only when the feds leave NH will we have a chance at true gun freedom.    :icon_pirat:

Did you get rid of your glock 19 yet?

Mike is quite correct.  ;D

That reminds me.  I have a Glock 17 that is fairly new.  Can I sell it to someone I know personally without all of the paperwork?

I went today. I didn't have money for a gun, but I picked up some 7.5 X 55 Wolf Gold. I entered the raffle at the New Hampshire Firearms Coalition booth.
There were some really nice handguns up there, if only I were 21.

Yes. There is no paperwork. Even if you sell it to a dealer, there is no paperwork except for the dealer getting a copy of your ID.

Cool. I didn't know Wolf was making 7.5x55. I doubt it comes close to GP-11, but a good source of plinking ammo would be nice. Plus, the Swiss supply of milspec ammo is bound to dry up eventually.

I need to lay in a few of those 480 round battle packs...
