I am thinking of going down to New London on thursday the 28th to hold Free Lauren signs and stuff. As of now there's probably about a 40 percent chance I will cancel or postpone this however.   I wont' be in a position to give a ride but gimme a shout if you want to coordinate with me somehow.

I'm not sure CT police will be as forgiving...
My father was one  ::)

They are just like cops everywhere.  Some suck, some suck less.

Someone needs to go to schools and universities in that area to talk up the eminent domain issue to gain more supporters for this protest.

Most adults are too cozy to get their hands dirty. ::) Believe it or not, some students do listen to reason.

I think all of this eminent domain stuff comes down to paying for schools. It is always for the children .... and old guys that buy viagra.

you also have to understand this in the context of what happened to Bridgeport, CT (a neighboring city) that went into state receivership in the 70's/80's.

Outside the State Women's Prison should be a great spot for a Free Lauren sign. It helped last time.
You could also do some filming in Ft. Trumbull area and get the NLDC all worked up again. :)

The same thing will happen to Hartford and New Haven.  Most cities will fold soon due to the increasing wellfare load and increasing expense of social services.  They don't all have a beautifull neighborhood on the water to steal and give to the highest bidder.

my number is 603 721 1490 if anyone wants to give me a shout thursday or today and coordinate some stuff.

I won't have internet much on thursday.   I'm considering staying down there overnight thursday and doing some stuff friday.

20 percent chance i will cancell my thursday visit,
40 percent chance I will cancel my idea to stay down there fri.

In spite of being 120 miles from NYC, even less from Boston, they have never gotten more than a few hundred people at any of the protests about ED in New London.   This should be instructive.

This will just add to the rampant property desertion that has been going on in these cities for years.  Most of the vacant property in Hartford is already owned by the city.  They control those parking lots and allow crooks to run them.
Cities with runnaway minority populations like Hartford, Bridgeport and New Haven are cooked.  They can try to move responsible people back into the city by subsidising old downtown buildings into condos, but, eventually they will be lucky to get in and out of them alive.  It will be: "Escape From __________"  Fill in the blank.

It sounds like Dave's various protests today went well.  I know he did the prison and the courthouse.  He went up to the guard shack with his sign at the prison and backed slowly away when they told him to get lost.  :D  I'm not sure where else he went.  He'll post updates later.

ROFL!!!

Dave will be the one man who causes courts to create the legal precedence for a specified maximum interval in which to leave when ordered to do so.

It should be an interesting case, though.  ;D

i posted some details about yesterday's demonstrations to the lauren arrested thread.
