There is a Tax Payers Bill Of Rights proposal coming up on the ballot in the next election here. It is incredible to see and hear all the parasites, local and external, who are ululating about the damaging consequences the passage of this proposal would cause, and the amount of money and effort they are devoting to defeat it.

These people(?) just don't get that the gravy train must end somewhere. Incredible!

This can also be done at the local level in NH by petition warrant article.

You get 25 signatures of registered voters on a question something like this:

Shall the Town limit the operating budget for the Town to be a maximum of the operating budget of the previous fiscal year plus or minus the percentage change in the New England Consumer Price Index (CPI-U New England) over the immediately preceding 12-month (September - August) period as published by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics plus two and a half percent?
